After an horrific incident in a local cemetary robs Barbara of both her brother and her sanity, she flees, taking refuge in a deserted farmhouse. There was a stack of different releases with very little difference in the content at one point - inc colorised versions - & I can't remember off the top of my head remember what differences actually were....only mention Uwish because best case this drops a version down to under a quid & a half.

one had extra footage shot decades later i think by one of the original producers i think which romero didn't authorise, i think. like you say there's a lot of versions.

IMDB explains the why so many versions.....
Countless distributors have released Night of the Living Dead (1968) onto VHS and DVD. This film is in the public domain, which means any distributor can legally sell copies without paying royalties. Beware. Many small distributors market copies of public domain films with poor picture and sound. Others are more reputable and deliver good transfers of the best available prints. Shop around.

Note that the 2002 DVD from Elite Entertainment is the only one transferred from the original 35mm print, which is not in the public domain. Other DVDs are transferred from a 16mm positive.

Uwish blurb....
For the first time ever, own the original and best loved zombie movie of all time as Director and Horror legend, George A. Romero intended it to be seen. The feature has been painfully restored and remastered and the sound upgraded to Dolby Digital 5.1 to offer a fright-fest of truly nerve-jangling proportions. This Special Edition also includes a host of Bonus Features never before released in the UK
