Tim Burton produced this mesmerising stop-motion animation spectacular that s already become a Christmas classic. Jack Skellington is the master of Halloweentown; a place dedicated to that one day of the year when everyone wants to be frightened. Jack has to over see all the preparations to make sure that his town of ghouls and ghosts give all the humans a good scare each year. As he begins to tyre of the constant scares he accidentally ends up in Christmastown, where Santa lives all year round preparing for Christmas. Seeing how happy everyone is makes Jack very jealous and he sets about hatching a plot for him to take over arranging Xmas, but now mater how hard he tries he still doesn t quite understand the concept. The title's a little misleading. The special edition has been out for 3 years.

Technically the new version is the 3D one which is out in a month-or-so.

Was just about to post this myself, I'm waiting on the 3D Version :w00t:
It was in cinemas last xmas, anyone know when it is coming out on DVD?

edit - from having a search online it seems it won't be coming out on DVD any time soon? They have rereleased it at cinemas this year and in 2008! (sadly not at a cinema near me :-( )

Scissorhands, I was not aware that any release for the 3D version had been made. Do you know otherwise? This is a steal at this price all the same as it has some great extras on it. One of my favourite films of all time.

On the HMV site this shows a release date of 1-10-2007; while the release date on the £3.98 special edition on Amazon is 2-10-2006.

The HMV description doesn't mention the Tim Burton early films that were on the original special edition - Does any one know if these are included?

Just saw the 3D version a week ago- it's worth getting, and the 'free' specs they give out are excellent too- hopefully they'll chuck them in with the disc. They really have spent so much time and effort converting it to 3D, the foreground/background blurs are perfect during movement. Roll on the Lucas Star Wars 3D that he's working on!!!

I never said it had.

I just said if I saw "new version of Nightmare Before Christmas" mentioned I'd assume it was the 3D version.

I don't believe it's flagged for a DVD release - instead a limited annual theatrical release.

I'm really pissed off that the 3D version is showing nowhere in Wales! The nearest place I can go see it is London - that's just stupid!

Grr

PLease answer me this one question. IS this movie being released in '3D' or HD/BLU RAY anytime BEFORE this xmas?? Otherwise I'll just buy the dvd for £3.39!
