Seems that way, but that's no bad thing - lets you choose your own layers.

I have seen them in the shop before - but only in brown. However I have also seen pictures of them in medium dark grey, with the tan triangle replaced with black.

I found out about the deal from their flier. I am not sure if its sent to you if you have a discount card - or based on how much you spend there,

I have never looked at them closely as I felt at over £100 they were overpriced. I suspect they are like an unlined kagool. Actual - its says "paclite" so its one that will roll up.

They also have a Berghaus IA Aura twin layer jacket dropped from £180 to £99 from tomorrow that I am about to post too.

As I said - £120 was a silly price - but "OK" is not how you describe a branded Goretex jacket for under £40.

If it was just an OK price - you would be able to post ones for less.

Anyway....

Here is the other deal I metione I intended to post as its posted now - I think is a better deal for a normal jacket.

Hi do you know if they're having any deals on The North Face jackets?

I got a Nupste this week there for £75 but the offer ends today - and at that price its likely they sold out on day one in the more common larger sizes.

I checked their flier that shows until the 20th - and there are no other North Face jackets discounted - although the Berghaus Akka which is similar but duck rather than 700 goose down is £59.99 from 14th -20th Dec.

Looking at the pic I wouldn't buy on style grounds BUT that's not the point on here is it!? It's a good deal whetehr we agree or not with our personal choice.
Of course its possible to get much cheaper jackets than this - but depends what you want. rrp seems expensive but at the end of the day this is a Goretex which is waterproof, breathable and wind protective material. Wear a bin bag and you will keep the rain out but sweat like a pig. Wear a standard kagol and it will probably soak wihin a relatively short period of time. As I say, I wouldn't buy this one personally but I'll give it some heat on the basis of such a cheap price for this type of jacket.

A Gore-Tex® PacLite® shell for £40 is an amazing deal, there are much more expensive ones than £120 for all you cheapskates that think its just a kagoul

I took a look at these today - they are also available in grey - with the tan pocket being black.

They are very light - and have no lining - with the exception of mesh lining style material for two pockets inside.

The look far more expensive than £40.

Its a good site to see what is available - but as they are not selling - there are no prices (also some of the things they list i know are no longer available).
#16
Starts tomorrow - the cheapest Gore-Tex top by miles - and its branded and roughly a third of what they claim is RRP (which no one would pay) - but realistically - this would be twice the price for a less established brand elsewhere.

I bought this in the ladies jacket last year as I am a candid hillwalker. This is an excellent price for a goretex jacket and came highly recommended in my hillwalking magazines. It's fantastic at keeping out the rain. The hood is more than adequate. The adjustable cuffs on the bottom of the arms and seamless pockets make it even more withstanding from the rain. This is an amazing bit of kit to keep in your rucksack. It's a must buy at this price!! Hot Hot!!!

What sets a candid hillwalker apart from a normal one, are hillwalkers generally a bit too reserved for your liking?

I don't know what your talking about? I was just putting a positive quote on something that I thought was a good deal. People like you ruin it when you start being arsey about a word.

I haven't a clue either. Maybe she meant "avid". Who knows.

Hot deal, good store. I may pop in but I will end up buying stuff that I don't need but want.
#22
Has anyone else noticed the alien face in the hood? click on go to deal, then click on the coat, hold the cursor in the hood and you will see a face :w00t: :)

Looks good, but nearest store is not very near
#24
Even more of a chav jacket than bergys RG1 ........ good price mind ...

£4 Discount Card. ¬_¬. What a carny thing to have your customers do.
#26
I bought two of each as Christmas presents - so if anyone is looking for specific details on the jacket - I have both colours here.

XL (45-47inch chest) - fits me with a base layer and microfleece on - and I am a 48 chest.

I'm going to take a trip to the nearest gooutdoors tomorrow to have a look at these. Are they suitable as a normal rain coat for back and forth work?

No,

The direction of the Gore-tex fibres means these are more suited for back than forth. :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

I just recently bought one of these coats and they are still on offer with the discount card. I would recommend one as they are very lightweight and waterproof.
