Prostar do them for kids for about £10. My kids footy team use them and never complain about the cold

been on the lookout for something like this. Does anyone know what difference there is between this amazon top and a couple of other ones i've seen here?

Amazon Nike Pro Vent: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nike-Vent-Long-Sleeve-T-Shirt/dp/B000GMNM8O/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1231925222&sr=1-12

Nike will pay me to take it off if it sees me wearing one..kekekeke
#13
in the link there's a further link to the leggings .... any cyclists out there know if these are suitable for riding ?
#14
are these any good as a baselayer if you're going skiing?
#15
Excellent just ordered something
#16
Don't see any for £9.99?
#17
these are amazing, i have 3 now and will get another one! really good under layers for skiing and every other exercise and even just in general on a cold day.
#18
Just picked myself up a blue camo to go with my green camo:prop:
been waiting to pick one of these up cheap for ages.

Got a long sleeved red one for £15.65 at Newitts. 5% cashback through quidco too. Short Sleeved ones are £14 odd. Just incase people are interested

I bought a base layer from T K Max b4 xmas for less than a tenner. The make was Groovstar NZ - they are designed for winter sports but I use my for golf. I highly recommend it - but for a couple of quid more would prefer a nice Nike labelled one.
#21
What's a baselayer? Is it just another name for thermals or are they supposed to make you look better?
#22
thermals/ventalention
#23
this is a great deal..
#24
I sometimes find TK Maxx good for these but just ordered short sleeve grey for 12.49, thanks OP. Would have liked the blue camo except long sleeves do make your arms look spindly if not extremely well muscled!
#25
helps the blood flow in muscles because of the compression... lowers fatigue.

I couldn't live without mine, play football in minus temperatures most of the winter with shorts and t... with compression leggins and tops... toasty!!

I use them for running when its cold but they're pretty much identical to the ones I use for snowboarding so yes. :)

Sorry to be a pain to anyone but i'm struggling to properly understand the difference between these three here? I'd be using the top for playing outdoor winter sports like football. Does anyone know?

One difference is the more expensive ones at Hewitts have mesh panels where as the others are just stitched with no extra mesh ventilation.

Compression clothing puts more pressure on the muscles and is meant to help with bloody flow. Baselayers keep you warm and dry by "wicking" sweat away from the skin. Both work well but the compression tend not to be so good at keeping you warm.

For playing outdoor football in the winter.... either or really.

I have both but prefer the Vented ones. They are slightly thinner and have mesh sides but TBH not alot of difference. All are great for sports. The vented ones seem to come up slightly smaller as well.

Sports Direct have the short sleaved womens one at just £8 but you will need to pay postage on top.

Thanks, ordered one these are useful for golfing.

I was wondering if these feel more like cotton or if they feel like more like lycra? I'm looking for something like a rash vest for martial arts.

You'll find that more ski-oriented brands, Helly Hanson and so on, generally offer levels of warmth...HH, for example, do a "DRY" range, then a "WARM" range. The warm ones feel a little more fleecy and consdentrate more on keeping you warm than wicking moisture.

These dri-fit ones are really good for general use (and you'll probably be warm enough after a while on the slope, anyway) but if you're after something specifically for resistance to cold, you could probably do better.

Anyway, back on topic, anyone know if amazon will take these back if they don't fit right?

Edit: Actually, doesn't matter. Just noticed the main one I wanted (the nice high-vis one) isn't actually from Amazon, so has £5 p&p on it.
I wonder how much more stuff I'd buy from amazon if I could just see the items *they* actually sell...

If you follow the direct link and look under 'Shipping Option' on the left of the screen you'll see a link for Free Super Saver Delivery. Click on it and it'll show you all the items that are available with free delivery and are therefore sold by Amazon and not a third party.
