The description page is down on the Nikko website, so I'm struggling to get the specs, but it's available on Amazon France for 80 euros. https://www.amazon.fr/Happy-People-36909-Peugeot-2008-DKR/dp/B01ET8844C

When you search Google, you see the Nikko page listed, but the link goes to a dead page. But states that this car won toy of the year 2016 so must be pretty good.

********************************EDIT*******************************
Have just checked the photo i took of the box instore (i forgot i took photos)

The features/description is as follows:-

Nikko Radio Control
Peugeot 2008 DKR 15
Realistic SFX - Sound increases with speed
1 Hour quick charge
Max speed 12.8MPH/20.0KM/H
9.6v LiFeP04 Battery
Realistic Engine Sounds
Digital proportional controls
2.4ghz radio frequency
40 Player Racing
Full Suspension
1:14 scale

So seems this is the larger 1:14 model that runs off the battery pack, not the smaller 1:18 that runs off AA batteries.

Thanks to "SmileyAdam".

Decent stuff this Nikko gear. Got the kids the ones that also work on water, comes in handy for getting boats out from the middle of the boating pond

nice find op, heat added

Only using 4x aa batteries in the car it is not going to be that much fun. May be ok at £40 but at the original £96 I would not be impressed. It probably looks the part but this car will be lucky to hit 4mph.

What kid asks for a remote control Peugeot? In fact who'd ask for a Peugeot of any type.

Fond memories of Nikko remote control cars, always found them more robust but not as fast as Tyco ones.

One that likes rally cars? Peugeot are extremely successful in motorsport.

I've seen these at Asda Home in Dartford and Lakeside, so probably national.

As ollie87 states, Peugeot know their stuff when it comes to motorsport - the car this model it based on won the Paris Dakar rally...

Not to mention the other four Dakar wins, three times winners of Le Mans, five WRC championships...

Shame there's nothing in there current range that's exciting like the old 205 GTI 1.9.

I get that and obviously can't dispute that. But I know if I asked my nephew if he wanted a remote control car he'd choose a Porsche, Ferrari, Sabaru, Focus RS or something else before he even considered a Peugeot.

The cars I had when I was younger were generally just car shaped, they didn't carry official licensing which didn't bother me in the slightest. My whole argument is admittedly irrelevant as a remote control car at this price point is a remote control car. It did initially start as a dig towards Peugeot.

It did initially start as a dig towards Peugeot.

Why? Don't you like cars?

Peugeot have made some incredible little cars over the years, yes they had a rough patch in the 90-00s but they're making good stuff again now. I read somewhere recently that said PSA Group makes more money on their cars than VW Group does, much be doing something right.

Every other car in France is a Peugeot. Never been a fan even in the days of the 205gti, I never bought into them. Much preferred the xr2i, looking back now they're both equally as hideous.

At least the 205 was galvanized from the factory and didn't turn into a pile of rust like the Fords did.

Not sure about you, but when i was a kid i just wanted a remote control car that looked different to normal cars on the road that you would see every day. So if it had flared arches, or cool stickers on, or looked like a monster truck, i would have been ecstatic.

This has flared arches, has Red Bull stickers on, and looks like a monster truck. I may go back and buy myself one seeing as i don't have any kids yet. I wonder if the Mrs would be understanding? lol

Dont forget as per the Nikko page, this product won toy of the year 2016 (not sure what category, presumably remote control cars (?)) So must be a fun/robust beast.

Used to have a few nikko rc cars as a kid, were really robust and reliable. Don't know what the quality is like these days.

i had 3 as a child.

One was a formula one looking car. Wired remote. forwards straight only, and then turned in reverse. I remember wandering around the house doing 12 point turns just to turn right. happy memories. :)

Another was a big black pickup truck Mitsubishi/Daihatsu type thing. With an orange spotlight on the front and big chunky real soft rubber tyres. That thing climbed sand like crazy.

The other was a 4x4 in light blue. had a trailer and was full remote control! If i remember correctly, it was a challenge Anneka/treasurehunt branded thing.

I'd forgotten about all of those until this thread. isnt it crazy how a simple HUKD thread can bring back so many fond memories.

Have had a look online and although most sites with the rc are in Europe. Standard price for the 1:18 is around £40. The 1:14 version is the toy of the year and has rrp of around £100... Very rare that an rc over £50 would take AA batteries. Naughty Asda if this is the 1:18 (does 7kph as compared to 24 for the larger version).
