Seems cheap would this work with a D3100?

Good price but think the more expensive 70-300 can be used with Full Frame too.
The Nikkor AF-S 55-300 should work fine with the D3100. The Sigma 70-300 looks as though it should autofocus too, as it includes a built-in motor.

EDIT: reading some of the reviews suggests there's some confusion as to whether the Sigma includes an AF-S compatible motor or not. Best to check with the vendor.

It is cheaper at Warehouse Express (thanks to Camera Price Buster).
Any AF-S lenses will work fine and autofocus on the D5000, D3100, D3000, D40/x, D60 and any other Nikons that I have left out that are lacking an autofocus motor

I got this for the D5000.................Cool lens and well made and near silent in operation.

A shot I took with this at F8

I like it a lot

I think it is (they are uk based, but i can't tell if they sell the items UK sourced or not). They also offer a 5year warranty, 1st and 2nd year with them and then 3,4,5 parts only. See .
Hmm, acutally within their warranty ts&cs they state 'Do not directly contact the manufacturer or their agent.' Not sure then...
Sigma lens has a motor. Use this lens atm though we think there are some problems with atm as it keeps locking up.
expired now £243
