Representing fantastic value, the Nikon Coolpix L22 has super detailed 12 megapixel resolution, a 3-inch LCD monitor, movie mode, 3-way VR Image stabilisation and high quality EXPEED image processing. There are lots more features outlined below but you get the picture, literally.

12 Megapixel Resolution
Allows enlargements of great quality, right up to poster size.

3.6x Zoom Nikkor Glass Lens
Giving a long zoom range with wide angle, this lens offers the equivalent of 37-134mm focal length, ideal for a wide variety of shooting environments.

3.0" LCD Monitor
Large LCD display with a wide viewing angle makes it easy to both view and share your photos.

Easy Auto Mode
This mode incorporates the Auto Scene Selector which identifies what kind of picture is being framed and selects the most appropriate settings.

High Quality Movies
Record movies in 640x480 VGA quality at 30 frames per second with sound.

3-way VR Image Stabilisation
Uses three technologies to massively reduce blurring from camera shake:
Electronic VR Image Stabilisation
Motion Detection which notices fast moving subjects and sets the ISO (up to 1600 max) accordingly to freeze the action
Best Shot Selector- fires up to 10 shots and automatically selects the sharpest one.

Smart Portrait System
Uses four great innovations to make sure your people photos look great:
Smart Portrait Mode - detects a smile and fires the shutter
Blink Warning - lets you know if someone may have blinked and prompts you to retake the photo
In-Camera Red-Eye Fix - before you even view your picture
Face Priority AF - Detects up to 12 faces and ensures they are well focused.

saw this advertised in a paper today, fantastic price for a nikon at this spec

[edit] just noticed it takes AA batteries, not supplied rechargable. bit of a disappointment, that aside it looks great

I was about to buy a Canon A480 for £70 from Argos and this is tempting.

It's not QUITE as nice a camera (even tho it has more MP it lacks a few of the Canon's features) but £10 is £10 so this seems a good deal.

Just ordered this, was looking for a Nikon anyway, seems a good deal.

One thing, to get the extra 5% enter: VOUCHERCODESUK, remember CODES not CODE:-D

Megapixels only matter if the sensor and optics are up to the job. I have a Kodak 14MP camera and the picture quality is rubbish.

I would go with the Canon, very good review here while Nikon compacts frequently get slated reviews:

Not here, it comes out better than the Canon. The Canon comes bottom of the pile.

the shutter lag is really annoying on nikons

Not all Nikons.

0.35 of a second, so about average and not bad at all at this price range.

I have a 5 yr old 5mp Nikon Coolpix 5200, it's been quadbiked over, dropped countless times, and it's still in perfect working order (albeit very battered!) I recently upgraded to a Fuji Finepix 12 mp........the Nikon, in my opinion, takes far better pics than the Fuji!! We just went to Longleat, I gave my Nikon to a friends 4 yr old to take pics of the animals, (despite it being dropped out the car window several times!) the picture quality was STILL better than the pics I took. I'm no David Bailey, but still..........!!

Only problem was it was slightly more complicated to use than it needed to be, but most people just point and click and never bother with the settings anyway, so shouldn't be an issue for most people!

If I hadn't just bought the Fuji I'd definitely have bought this, brilliant cameras.
