Is it any good? What does it do apart from take photos? Is it a point&shoot? Any info would be nice!!!

it sings and dances!
Seriously, not a 'point and shoot' its what i call a 'DSLR'S too bulky to take so i will take the other one' mans camera. Great camera, more than a point and shoot, better than a bridge camera but not quite as good as a DSLR, (debatable).
Serious decision, as to DSLR or bridge, OR somewhere inbetween!
Great price for this one but its not the best one out there

It aims to be a half way house between a point & shoot and a DSLR, having some of the manual features of a DSLR along with better optics and sensor than your typical P&S. Many people who'd go for one of these will already own a DSLR but want something more compact for occasions where a bulky DSLR is impractical.

This one goes up against the Canon G12 and the Panasonic Lumix LX5, all are excellent cameras although from what I've read the Panny just edges it for me (and is cheaper than this).

The main thing about a camera like this is the ability to use an external flash.using a bounce flash can transform indoor shots .
