Main Features:

Traditional-design ergonomics and SLR-type features aid purposeful photography by combining secure, stable operation, with manual control, advanced functions and precision optics.

10.1 megapixel resolution lets you capture outstandingly detailed images that are suitable for printing complete or just from selected areas, even in large format.

NIKKOR wideangle 18x zoom lens with super-telephoto capability, offers outstanding precision and sharp resolution. (35mm [135] film format equivalent: 27 - 486mm).

Macro mode lets you get as close as 1 cm to a subject and capture minute details with crystal clear clarity.

Optical Vibration Reduction combats the effects of camera shake to produce sharp results even in low light.

Electronic viewfinder helps you frame images accurately throughout the entire zoom range and enables sharp, steady shooting, even in bright sunlight.

EXPEED image processing system for optimum performance and maximum image quality.

2.7-inch LCD monitor with wide viewing angle, simplifies composition and playback.

High ISO (6400) reduces the risk of blurred images with fast-moving subjects or in low-light by enabling faster shutter speeds.

Mode dial provides quick and easy access to exposure modes Programmed Auto (P), Shutter priority (S), Aperture priority (A) or Full Manual (M) for greater creative control over your photography.

Sport continuous shooting mode: shoot up to 30* continuous shots at 13 fps (H), 6 fps (M), or 4 fps (L).

Distortion reduction automatically corrects images that may appear skewed as a result of barrel distortion when shooting at the widest angle of the lens. Effects can be checked in real-time on the LCD monitor.

Three unique Nikon image innovations: Face-priority autofocus, focuses on faces, not backgrounds; D-Lighting creates pleasing results by correcting strong shadows; and In-camera Red-eye Fix corrects false eye color due to flash.
I'm a fan of Nikon cameras - but the response times on this are disappointing. Go with the D40 offer.
Don't forget quidco, just increased to 6% apparently.
Nikon P80 is not really a Nikon and it shows in the bad quality of the pictures it produces. Similar to the Olympus 570z and Fuji s8000/s8100 (same lens) but the Fuji has the best low noise performance because they did not push the pixels to 10mp. I suggest you read some reviews before purchase. BTW the Fuji s8000 is currently £137 on amazon and £115 (refurbished) from the Fuji web site, IMO a much better camera..
