I wonder if the S610c is the same as the S610? It seems the S610 does not have Wifi like the S610c :-(

This review of the S610c gives 7/10 overall.

That is only because it is [now] out of stock at Play, but can [still] be bought from one of their PlayTrade sellers (it's Iike Amazon Marketplace) but obviously at a much higher price than Play's.

But I bought at the £89.99 so does that mean I got it in the nick of time?

I would agree, however there is such a thing as offer and acceptance. In this instance if they take the payment they agree and the contract is formed and bound. So nothing they can do but delivery the goods at the given price.

Don't talk crap. And no, I can't be bothered looking through the T&C for you. The get out will be there, I promise you.
#26
deek i tend to agree with you and what are u going to do sue them for emotional hurt. In saying that Play.com have always honoured my purchases and they had 2 mistakes.

This is often discussed here.

It is not unusual for the T&C's to state that the contract is binding at the point of dispatch.

Beer intake is dumbing down my brain at the moment so my terminology might not (heck, who am I kidding - will not be) spot on but the long and short of it is that it's not 'hard & fast' till the goods are actually dispatched, so it's not a certainty that those that ordered will receive.

Best thing to do is not to contact the company, but sit tight & hope for the best. Contacting ther seller is more likely to bring an error to their attention an increase the liklihood of remedial action ( ie cancel the order)

It is suspected that some companies do this intentionally for various marketting reasons.

best of luck to those that ordered, PLAY seem pretty reputable to me so hope those that
caught it in time get what they ordered.

would someone that's not had beer please explain this a bit better than I did ? :|

Exactly. And they mean actually 'despatched', ie they have actually given the parcel to Mr Posty and he's walked off with it and put it on the belt in the sorting office.
So they have all that time until that happens to weedle their way out of it.
I've lost count of the times I've sifted through T&C's and it appears that 'contract when despatched' clause takes care of just about every eventuality.

No need, that was a perfect description.

Why is there so much talk of this being a mis-price?

There was another camera on Play reduced from £229.99 to £89.99 today. http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/456640/casio-exilim-ex-z250-9-1-megapixel-/

No. Like I said in an earlier post, the ones on sale now are from a PlayTrade seller. They are not sold by Play, but from a third party through Play.

Click on the Buy button and all will become clear.

Don't despair!!!!

Panasonic FS4 still available in store and on line at Tesco for £89.99.

Similarly good camera from an excellent manufacturer!

Play RRP is nonsense.
