Good price, got this from Currys the other day for eventually about £20 more.

Just to add - I think Quidco only pays on the excluding VAT price, so it won't quite be that cheap, but close.

See the rounded girly 2 tone edges? Although in saying that the old NEX3 had rounded edges, hope the new 5 doesnt.

yes it's more ugly to me too, i liked the look of the NEX-5 most, kinda the point of these micro 4/3rd compacts, although the sensor in the new C3 should be good

Will Quidco honour the cashback though because this voucher code is exclusive to the My Voucher Codes website and it's not listed on Quidco's "Dixons voucher codes with cashback" section. I would buy it now if I knew the Quidco cashback would be honoured.

I too am interested in the validity of this price

I got the nex 5 ..great camera nice design... great hd video..but not a fast shooter and the auto focus for me is not great....I was surprised as most of the action shots of people I took were just not sharp with autofocus....I now use it on manual focus (10 feet @ f8 on a wide angle lens which is works well if you use fill flash also)... ...this nikon will be alot better I reckon for low light etc...tricky moving subjects....

anyone else have this issue with the nex..also I have the latest firmware

cheers

Try £147 more and often only £130 more. Though not fair to compare a camera that costs 1/3rd+ more.

even i want to know same..can some one share this info?

For topcashback the calculation is wrong. You get 6.06% of the pre-VAT price, so it's actually (6.06/100)*(£394/1.2)=£19.90 cashback from them - if they honour it.

I've got this camera, I'd say it is a good buy especially with Quidco

I have just gone for this deal and I can confirm that the voucher works and the Quidco is being tracked for £19.70.

The status is tracked but it says "Please note that the new 'Tracked' status now includes all Validated transactions and Tracked* transactions." So I guess it worked...probably. Still without the Quidco it's a very good deal.

No, try reading it carefully - the Jessops price is after cashback. It says "You pay £429.95 today."

Very good deal, I was going to get on of these but got a Fuji S1730 instead as I'm a noob to photography. Once I've mastered apperature, shutter speed, focusing, lighting etc I'm getting one of these :)

I too am a noob with DSLR cameras but bought this a few weeks ago because it has built tutorial and user guide which makes choosing shutter speed, focus etc easy. To be honest even set on auto the pictures are amazing

If you care about high def video go for the 3100, otherwise the 5000 with twin VR lenses is going to be a better all round deal. The difference in resolution isn't enough to worry about. 10% difference in image quality isn't going to be noticed.

The twisty screen on the D5000 is very nice if you are doing macro or above head shots but otherwise it's marginal - although it is nice to be able to twist the screen round to protect it when it's not being used.

If you aren't using video much then that second lens is going to give you far more photo oportunities than any minor feature difference between the two.

The video on the D3100 is much better than the D5000 - higher definition and it can autofucus with video. That makes a lot of difference if you intend to use it in video mode a lot.
