Been an avid Olympus user for nearly 40 years, back to the days of the original OM-1, seriously miffed that all my original OM glassware is not compatible, wheras Nikon, Canon Sony (they bought up Minolta) still use a variant of their original mounts (obviously functionality is limited)
Whilst this is marketed as a 'beginners' SLR I'm sure it would do everything I need, and a lot more besides.
Given that nobody is going to create a 'digital back' for my old OM kit, and there's plenty of old 35mm leses (OEM and third party) I'd feel pretty comfortable switching to this camera.
Even if you have higher-end Nikon kit, at this price, it'd do fine as a 'spare' body.

The D3200 is £200 more the RRP is £500 but I have seen it lately for about £450.
Full frame is it ?
Full frame is it ?
Yeah bit of an ambitious statement that one lol
As mentioned, the only downside is that you only get manual focus on older lenses, as the focus is all done in the lens. Not too much of a problem if you're going to stick to common kit lenses though.
An extra £75 eliminates this problem I think (best check) with the next model up:

A competitor to compare with this (and also available at bargain prices) would be the Canon 550D.
Edit: I voted hot, because at this end of the market and at this price, some of the downsides of grey importing can be overlooked.

Worth the extra would you say?
Despite posting this I haven't taken the plunge yet, and not even sure I can justify the expense at the moment, but so tempted X)
That means it will only autofocus with lenses that comes with motor, which are much more expensive, a basic 50mm 1.8 prime lens with motor is £150, oposed to around £85 for the ordinary lens.
I bought one, the camera is great, image quality is really good and the build quality is top notch, but after a few days I exchanged for a Canon 1100d because of that, I would spend a lot more on lenses with motor includd.
The D3100 is comparable to my old 1100D which wasn't quite the same spec as this (which only did 720p - the 3100 actually does 1080p24) but can be bought for around £260.
If this is your first DSLR i'd consider trying both Nikon and Canon's offerings out and see which you find more comfortable then decide which fits your budget best. If you're pinching the pennies though this is a pretty safe bet for the two mainstream offerings (I can't recommend any I haven't tried really, so bear that in mind!)
~£250 - 1100D
~£300 - D3100
~£360 - D5100
One last thing to think about - Canon have a wider range of lenses available, this increases both the quantity of second hand stock but also your chances of getting more unusual, older lenses which can be a bargain.
Some of Nikon's - an array of 50mm 1.8 prime lenses from the 70s, 80s are incredible and particularly cheap. Bear in mind that the D5100 and D3100 won't power the autofocus on the cheaper of these, but focussing manual isn't much of a burden when you can buy a stunning pin-sharp lens for ~£50!
