My deal for the Sony A200 isnt too bad either for an extra £64 you do get a bag and a much better spec camera. None the less this is a good deal for people on a tight budget.

Much better? Debatable, VERY debatable.

Good deal voted hot  Im looking at a getting a new camera but more tempted go pay bit extra for the a200 myself atm
#12
I'd be surprised if the camera qualifies for a rebate. As far as I am aware all ebuyer photo stock iare imports from the US with warranty provided by the seller, not the UK agent.

Very, Very Debatable......

He did say Spec, not performance. You can't argue the spec of the A200 being superior but you can debate the performance all day long!

lol, here we go again :)

carry on guys, its all good fun :)

Indeed you can. But please... please for the love of mankind... don't!

There probably is no better camera, just one that is more suited to your needs...
which only you know.

Good luck.
#19
So can you claim cashback on this one or not?
#20
Is this not only 6MP, would a 10MP camera not be better ... ?
#21
Waltersmith - have a search for "D40" and look for the threads on the recent Amazon and Dixons deals (look for the threads with high post counts). There are discussions on this exact topic in both threads. You'll soon work out the answer :)

Edit: here you go:

Called ebuyer and they confirmed while its UK standard it's not UK stock so not covered by cash back and the 2 year warranty!

Voted cold!
#23
Thanks dxmon. I did notice the D60 mentioned the cashback on th ebuyer site while the D40 didn't so that makes sense. Still a reasonable price, but I'm sure it can be had for around £220 if I wait a few weeks.

Yea, I'm waiting around aswell, hopefully a retailer will drop the price before the cashback offer ends.

Well I got bored of waiting and decided the deal below was a great price anyway, so I ordered one from Dixons at the weekend. I reckon it comes to £224.58 if you use Quidco and an Egg Money card:

Camera £272.16
Delivery £4.95
Discount code (AW5) -£5
Quidco -£8.01
Nikon cashback -£30
Egg instant cashback -£6.80
Egg 1% cashback -£2.72
Total £224.58

As the Egg instant cashback only gives you 2.5% and quidco give you 3% it makes sense to go for the Quidco. Officially you're only supposed to get the Egg instant cashback if you go via the Egg link but I had a hunch that I would probably get it anyway and indeed it has now shown up on my statement. Should receive it this week :)

Now down to £246.74 and back in stock. Still not sure about the cashback situation though.

There seems to be some debate earlier in this thread about whether ebuyer stock qualifies for the cashback offer.

Hadn't seen that, sorry should have checked.

This is so much cheaper than Amazon/Dixons, I'd be very surprised if it was Uk stock.

its £267 at amazon, so £20 difference..
#34
Also, the D60 page on ebuyer mentions the cashback, but the D40 doesn't.
#35
It's out of stock again now anyway.

Nikon or Sony..... Hmmm I wonder which one I'll choose. Camera brand or entertainment brand that bought a second rate camera company's SLR business. Hard decision. NOT!
