It's worth to remember that his model is the last Nikon consumer DSLR wihich supports flash shutter speed of 1/500sec. People who use this will know how valuable it is (fill-in flash, ec.). Only the high end Nikon models support this now. {BTW the D40X model does not offer 1/500sec flash speed, it's just 1/180sec, I think)

Can you fix the link pet?! Amazing price, I think this is the cheapest it has even been, perhaps even when the cashback was active. A brilliant DSLR for those upgrading for compacts. Very hot. Get one while you can, I don't reckon it will stay at this price for long.

I got one from PC World for about the same price( I used their price match policy). If you do the same now, it will work out to about 210 which is amazing. As to the camera, I just simply love it.

PCWorld no longer price match amazon. they have changed the price match to price match plus and now only price match Argos, Comet, Jessops, Tesco, John Lewis, Asda, B&Q, Game Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Maplin, Staples, Toys R Us, Zavvi, Woolworths.

Still great deal. Hot!

Yes, it worked after I added the fivetv to take 5% off and then tried the vat3 again...however can't use both.
The fivetv brings it down to £209.53 plus any quidco or egg bonus.

dixons deal is better, and in stock!

Bought one of these a few weeks back, quality case and room for an extra lense and a few bits

Excellent camera, don't be missled by the low mega pixel count. I've got a d60 which is the new model and most people/reviews prefer the old d40.

Voted hot!

Great thank you so much

One more question - would I need to get a memory card and if so any ideas?
#31
How would this compare to the Sony A200 that I got the other week for just under £200?

Yep you will, don't bother with a cheapie though, you need a decent speed one for this type of camera, try play.com and a good value one is the sandisk ultra 2gb sd card, very reliable. Don't bother with ebay, most are fakes.

I got one of these a little while back, and you couldn't pry it out of my hands with a 6ft crowbar...

Couple of pics taken with this camera at least I pointed the right end away from me :)Linky

hot deal!!

Very good price for an A200, personally I'd prefer the d40 but both are good value at these prices
