Nikon D40x kit thorough Dixons price match for £389.99 then £60 cash back from Nikon total price £329.99.
Tekmo are doing the Nikon d40x kit for £389.99, Dixons do a price match on it.
Ebuyer are doing the Lexar 2gb SD memory card for £14.68, again Dixons price match this giving a total price of £404.67.
Postage is £3.95, but then using the discount code JUNE10G you get a further £10 discount, giving a total price of £398.62. Nikon then give £60 back to you giving a total price of £338.62.
I have just ordered mine and should be here in a few days.

Many thanks; I just ordered via the same route & the guy from Dixons was very helpful. Price match was £389.99, minus £10.00 using voucher code June10G = £379.99, plus £3.95 postage = £383.94. Cashback of £60 make a final total of £323.94. Bargain!

good price on a great camera, but why spoil it by using cheap bog standard sd cards?

Play.com are doing 2gb Sandisk UltraII cards for 14.99 delivered:
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/880479/SanDisk-Ultra-II-SD-2GB/Product.html

and 2gb Sandisk ExtremeIII (excellent high speed cards) for only £16.99 delivered.
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/1112120/-/Product.html?P36=5NFJPR

Both cards will get you better write performance and arguably better all round cards. Oh and you get 2% quidco too.

(if you do just want a basic 2gb card the Sandisk version is £12.99 too)

Voted warm because of the card (but good call using the dixons pricematch & code on the camera)

Lexar card are actually quite superior. Their PRO range is excellent.

(personally I disagree, but live and let live etc.)

Even so, your bundling a basic card in with a piece of kit that would benefit from the superior perfomance of a fast memory card seems to me to be a false economy. Especially for the sake of a couple of quid.

Save yourself a lot of money and get the D40 instead, through a similar route. What is the D40x giving you over the D40 that you need for £70 more? Yes, if you're interested in an entry-level DSLR and you know your stuff, your answer will probably be nothing.

Cheers for that, I ordered the ultra II from xlshop today because searching around that seemed the best price.

Also, I agree about the memory cards. I don't think brands are important but you'll want a card that's doing 80x or 133x really for the card to keep up with the photos. I'm not sure exactly but d40x photos are likely >5mb, and a cheap card may only transfer data at 2MB/sec

As Tekmo was including delivery they gave free delivery as well.

With the £60 cash back means cost will be £319.99 bargain. :-D
