Hot! The best current price for the body and lens is £485; the battery would normally be about £40, and the remote about £20 (though a generic from eBay that'd work just as well would be about £2!) AND there's an extra year's warranty buying from PC World/Currys.

Nice spot!

^ Pretty sure you get a 2 year warranty from Nikon as standard, certainly states as such on my 5200 box purchased 6 months ago.

I think Nikon run regular extended warranty promotions; there was one on my D5000, but I had to register within a given time limit.

Currys' warranty offer might be more interesting for buyers of other brands, of course.

register within 30 days of purchase and receive an extra year I just bought one from fleebay with 3 years extended warranty 390 pounds delivered by Amazon from Scotland.

I got the 5200 VR kit (not VR II) for £325 (400 - 50 - 25) but extra £85 for battery, remote and better lens seems WELL worth it.

If you look around hard enough there's still the odd display model or customer return on clearance for the 5200 VR (not VRII). Many paid around £329 or so for it a couple of weeks ago. I was lucky enough to pick up a pristine (but open box) 5200 VR with an extra battery for £279.01. I then had a £25 o2 code, plus there's £50 cashback from Nikon to come. And yes, there's a 2 year warranty promotion running at the moment too. £204.01 sounded good to me...

Actually, I'll do someone a favour and possibly save them the hunt. There was one ex display model left in Croydon at the end of last week.

there was one of these sets (5200 with extra battery, remote and 18-55) for £379 and +£50 cashback in harrogate currys/pcworld the other week. couldn't say if that price is still available, but maybe worth a call or pop in if you're interested.

one thing to note, nikon cash back used to come as a cheque but now comes on a prepaid credit card - after a while there's a monthly admin fee for the card so you may find your cash back dwindles to nothing if you don't spend it quickly.

Save the extra and get a D5300, it's well worth it.
Had a couple of these for a while earlier this year, was underwhelmed with handling and image quality in both stills and video.

Just my opinion.

I landed one of these a few weeks back from Currys - check you tick the right item if ordering online as at the time they were listing one WITH the extra battery and remote and one WITHOUT, both at exactly the same price!!!

Quidco has 5% cashback expire in 7 days.
