The D60 is a high-performance DX format digital SLR with a 10.2 megapixel resolution. Easy to use and easy to handle, it is the perfect way to explore the magic of digital SLR photography. Everyday situations can be trusted to the camera in AUTO mode, or you can try one of its many options for more creative control.

In-camera creative features are easily accessible via an intuitive menu. Convenience is highlighted by a rotating information display that follows the orientation of the camera, a self-cleaning internal mechanism, and a sensor located in the viewfinder that turns off the monitor. With a near-instant start-up time and a small, light body, this camera is ready to go with you anywhere. The D60 - stunning photography is just a step away.

This camera features VR - Vibration Reduction enabling you to take even better pictures. The Vibration Reduction (VR) system compensates for image blur caused by small, involuntary movements (from wobbly hands, shooting from a moving vehicle, etc) which are called camera shake.

It has been £300, with the £30 cashback, although that was a couple of months ago when the pound was stronger http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod639.html

I can only see Dixons Entertainment on Quidco and that doesn't apply here as not DVD/ Game. Topcashback does show Dixons at 3% so around £10 cash back from there.

Good deal given the recent price rises. There's also a 2% off code for Dixons on orders over £149 :):

Edit: Ignore this - I missed it in the original post!

Slight quibble. The camera doesnt have VR, the lens does. Sony and Olympus have anti-shake built into the body; Nikon and Canon have it built into the lenses. That means that the functionality depends on buying lenses with VR (which are more expensive than the equiv lens without VR). There is also a D60 kit with the standard lens rather than the VR lens - typically £30 cheaper.

Also the D60 (like the D40) lacks an in body autofocus motor so only AF-S lenses will autofocus on this body.

Good price though. In effect this is matching the best price I've seen for the standard D60 Kit but giving the VR lens at no price premium.

However, the vibration reduction in a VR lens is far superior than the built VR software that the Sony and Olympus cameras use.

I have the D60 with the Sigma 18-200mm OS (Optical Stabilization - same as VR) and have previously had the D50 without VR and the Sony A100 with VR built in. The built in OS is a bigger improvement over the Sony A100 than the Sony A100 was over the non VR D50.

I've got one of these which I bought from Jessops late last year, very easy to get excellent pictures with.
Some will say go for the canon eos or the sony etc, best bet is to go to a camera shop and have a play with them all. I preferred the nikon others may not, its upto you!

This one of the best entry level DSLR cameras to get, it comes form the D40 and D40x, the D40 is about 2 years old and still producing great sales, the D60 is the more or less updated D40x.

great camera, got the D40X.

Heat is getting added but it shows me Out of Stock :( Is that same for you?

Live again.. Just ordered
#13
It is back in Stock as Ankur says, I got all the way to checkout (but just bought the Pentax K-m deal posted on here yesterday so don't want two!).

Good news - it seems that the prices of dslrs are starting to fall.

Can this be unexpired please?
