I've been looking into buying this camera for a while, and Amazon seem to be doing it for the cheapest price.

There is a £60 cashback deal on which means you can claim the money back after you've bought it for £744.60 and effectively pay £684.60 for it.

See here for Details

The cashback deal offer ends today (30th April 2010).

Price Comparison

Jacobs: £791.99 (£731.99 after cashback).
Jessops: £779 (£719 after cashback).
Dixons: £799 (£739 after cashback).

I have been watching this as well - it is the camera that I would like to buy - though not the lens. Price still too high for me - in other markets price competition or a differing Nikon sales strategy has priced this more closely to the D5000.

If rumours of a D7000 are correct then the D90 should be discounted when the new model is launched. I agree with your view in that is does seem overpriced (price has gone up allot of the last 2 yrs) given it has primitive video capabilities.

This was the one I wanted too, as a first time DSLR, but the price just put me right off. I however got a d5000 on good deal and am very happy with it.

BTW Bertt Which lens are you looking to get?

This was actually £749 on the Dixons website last week, and there was a 5% code off purchases over £700, and there was 3% Quidco, making the effective price after cashback around £630 (which had been there for a couple of weeks). I've just got my Nikon cheque a few days ago....

Guys, check Jessops online. Its £719

Opps, never mind. That price is after cashback.
