If you are a frequent flyer, this may be a good hint for you.

A Nikon D90 inc Lens for £708.

Obviously in order to benefit, you have to be flying somewhere from an Airport that has a Dixons Tax Free, but it is a great saving.

I'm off to NY soon, and I'll be pre-ordering one to pick up on the way.

To be fair its a good price but im holding off till i can possibly get john lewis to price match somewhere. Their £47 3year warranty covers accidental damage and for that price i think its the best place to buy from.

If your not flying and really want one you could always buy it from www.currys.co.uk for £799 and use the "save5" code to drop it down to £759, that is until September 30th when the code expires.

So what? It isn't a video camera. No DSLR including the newest Canon models is any use at recording video as the limitations of the manual zoom and slow phase detect focussing systems they have to use mean it is more of a gimmic than anything else.

If you want video then get something designed for it, even a Panasonic TZ-7 will do a better job at that.

ah, aren't currys & dhl wonderful?

bought one of these 08:15 on tues for delivery in 2-3 days and it still hasn't shown up.

DHL online tracking advises

Released From Storage 02/10/09 11:38 LICHFIELD SERVICE CENTRE
Returned To Base Undelivered 02/10/09 LICHFIELD SERVICE CENTRE
Consignee Cannot Be Reached 01/10/09 10:07 LICHFIELD HOME DELIVERY

spoke to DHL with no effect, spent 25 mins on the phone to currys and still no effect.

i stayed in 9-5 weds to fri and they couldn't reach me.

i have two stores within 7-8 mins drive - wish i'd have just spent the £799 and not got stressed about it.

please remind me not to even bother clicking on any currys deals in future.

hmm, got mine eventually, and am delighted with it. advice for anyone umming and aahing would be to dive in when you see a deal.

also, when budgeting, you may find you want to experiment with lenses, so could easily end up spending £800 on top of your £800.

my present preferred walk-around lens is Nikon 18-200 f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR ouch but mmmmm

Yes you are right.

First saw this in Dixons tax free in LHR T1 a few months ago at 690, then around 5 weeks ago it was 720-ish, and now this price (760).

Price seems to be heading Northwards!!

it is indeed, I wonder if this is a misprice, I couldn't see in the website saying it's refurbished, it says its new...hmmm.........
#16
It's now 726.36 in Dixons Tax Free/ Airport Shops.

A few quid cheaper in Jessops should Quidco pay out 8% on the pre-VAT price as mentioned on the Jessops website.

Can anyone see this cheaper anywhere else?

Going to take the plunge very soon!

Cheers.

I bought my D90 and it comes with the 1 year warranty... on the box it says phone the number within 30 days for a second year free. Phoned them up and got that... however, pay £65 over the first 12 months (£5 something a month) and you get a third year warranty, plus theft / accidental damage (inc. water damage) for all 3 years. So depending on the price, not necessarily worth getting from John Lewis.
