is this a good price? I paid 89.99 for the limited edition Pokemon Sun 2ds. this comes with no software, and Pokemon Sun costs over £30.

I'm just out of my local Asda, they didn't have any. Good deal though.

Don't honestly see this as a deal (standard price) but voted Hot as I spent several hours just trying to find somewhere with stock the other day. Eventually found one in Smyths at £79 with a game included.

I pre-ordered in October. they were limited edition and are sold out now. I was purely using it as a reference point to question whether £60 for just a console is good value. you can get a 2ds with new super Mario Bros for £75.

what a funny turn of events. these were getting cleared for peanuts last year at supermarkets. now people are scrambling for them at rrp.

Picked one up in Kilmarnock Asda on Friday there. £80 reduced to £40 and includes Mario game. Result ;)
***Edit***
They also had a whole section of ps4, xbox, ps3, 360 games reduced right down. Picked up Destiny Legendary Edition PS4 (£5), No Man's Sky PS4 (£7.50), Dino Dini Soccer PS4 with t-shirt (£2.50), Ratchet & Clank PS4 (£7.50), Assetto Corsa PS4 (£7.50), Ride 2 PS4 (£7.50), Halo 5 Xbox1 (£5) and a few others.
Went back in yesterday just to see what was left and the was told that they had reduced it right down again on New Year's Eve. Most stuff had been reduced to £2 by the end of the day. Guy said Fifa 17 had been reduced to £2 as well.
Happy with what we got though. We just happened to be in the right store at the right time though.
Happy Hunting!

This came straight from the assistant who priced them up and I asked him if it was definitely 17 and he said yes.

There were only two 2ds consoles on shelf when I picked up mine and when I passed by later the other one was gone.

Absolutely barking mad, has to be a cold deal for me. Ancient, old, undesirable and inferior unit for playing 3DS games. Simply is old tech, was old tech even the day the first 2DS console was released. A truly dreadful way to experience and play 3DS games. No one would vote a 14" CRT telly hot just because it was cheaper or £60. We would all say it is not worth it and best buy a decent LCD telly or something more modern and fit for purpose. Exact same thing with the 2DS. Honestly not worth paying £20 for, its madness I tell you, madness.

Allow me to counter your points with cheap, robust, kid-friendly, and easy to repair.

The whole point of the 2DS is that it has no 3D capability for infants, where 3D on small screens is not recommended. It has no hinge too which tends to be the first thing to break when kids get hold of them.

My two eldest both have one and they've held up to their torture for two years now without so much as a scuff. 2DS' are tanks and perfectly fit for this purpose.

Nobody is expecting n3DS XL performance out of it.

i agree, ND stop it! the 2ds is ok and fills a gap for some. Just, infants chrisfu? you meant kids right? as their eyes will be shot by 5 if your toddlers have 2ds's.
also don't forget the n3ds is just as powerful (and sexier) as the flappy paddle n3dsxl but heat for the rebuttal!

5 and 6. For the first couple of years they barely touched them as they had LeapPads and the content on that was more suited, but they get a few hours a week each on their 2DS' now that they're more capable with such things. Be assured though that their time on their portables is limited, just as much as their TV time is as well. Most of their 2DS time is when we need a bit of a lie in on a Sunday!

Our eldest particularly has improved her reading with the Biff, Chip and Kipper games, as well as (weirdly) by playing semi-naff games like Monsters High as they're pretty much forced to attempt to read the dialogue. So long as they're not demanding to play the thing all the time, I find that they do them good.
