    Good price.

Though the sharp price drops do seem to show what an epic fail this device has been, lol.

I tested one for 5 mins the other day and started to get a headache!

Yep this Friday is supposed to be the official price drop day but if you register before then you get like 20 classic games for free. Most are dropping the price early on purpose to get a big sales boost as they know people will buy now to get the games as you cannot get the games if you don't register by Friday.

they did a big mistake overpricing in the first place in a so depressed market, they had a lot of bad press too, but they are wise enough to reposition it just in time for the big titles releases and next christmas. we will see..

more like overpriced just like sony vita - it should have been £149.99 max on launch, vita should be £169.99 for 3g/wifi (why have 2 versions, stupid)

my sons cost me £123 inc a game - it is miles better than the ds lite and dsi though, then again i like the old ds lites simplicity, dsi was stupid and way too big

As i said when it was released. Nintendo are lazy, rehashing old games to sell at £30, using out-dated hardware with the 3d effect... I am glad they have finally seen the light, especially with Sony releasing the PSP vita. A true next gen portable that can decimate iPhone's and the 3ds.
Still if you do want 3d its a good price voting hot

i agree, i have 3 ds lites (family members), no dsi at all (no gba slot! two small step forward and a HUGE one backward for me) and now two 3ds that really improves on the original ds concept and the additional features of the dsi..

though... i'd love to buy a dsi XL just for the big screen and battery if the new 3ds price force down the XL price too :D

So? Sony and Microsoft have remastered their old games like Halo and God of War. Why can't Nintendo? The team who wanted to remaster Ocarina of Time stated that they wanted to have the original concept art as the new graphics style so they could of matched the graphics of Twilight Princess. They have only annouced/done 2 first party remakes so far for the 3DS. Maybe they will do a Majora's Mask aswell. I don't get why people get so mad when Nintendo want to remaster a game. It's true Nintendo totally messed up with the launch of the 3DS. But they are trying to fix it. The PSV/3DS will never compete with the iPhone, mainly because it ain't that "casual" or because there is app for that.

Anyway good price. I would say get it now as the free games you get are some timeless classics.

My point being Nintendo have increased competition in the market THAT is the only reason they are cutting the price. Especially from android and i devices,
Nintendo would happily farm old technology to gain more profits if they could. I find it aggravating because i believe large companies such as nintendo should invest in NEW ideas to push teh market forward. Sure 3d is new, so go pay £129 for it... U see what i mean?

Bah more I hear about prices the more I get annoyed. People are happy to pay premium for a smart phone which is always less powerful and your often paying for the badge *cough* Apple.

It is up to consumers now whether handheld gaming succeeds or fails. Whether they will want wiiware like junk like you have on itunes or you want fully features games which will cost the slight premium.

But please don't talk about price. The fact that people are making a noise about the PSV price because the 3DS price is being reduced also sickens me.

Anyway, extremely good price. If you are happy with the freebies that Nintendo is offering - mega heat. If your like me who isn't a big fan of the 'classics' - I would wait.

I don't understand why people call this device an epic fail. It really annoys me. The device would be selling just fine even if the price didn't drop since the big hitters (super Mario 3DLand and Mario Kart 7) will be releasing this November/December.

The reason why the price has dropped down is due to many reasons. First of all, Nintendo haven't released a Wii or DS game in ages and thus the DS and Wii sales are dropping, Also, a lot of money has/is being spent on Wii U research and development etc. A lot of money was spent on R&D for the 3DS and advertisements. A lot of money was also spent on the new head quarters created not to long ago.

All of THIS has lead Nintendo to take drastic actions. The fact people wont buy this console because the 3D hurts their eyes is also a contributing factor even-though if you play with it for 30 mins you would realize that your eyes ADJUST to the 3D since your brain/eyes aren't used to the 3D. Also, the 3D can be turned off. Nintendo CEO Iwata wants this to be a true successor to the DS. He wants this to sell like hot cakes in order to get more software in peoples hands. Nintendo want to sell 16 million units by the end of this fiscal year. That is a lot.

This isn't a personal attack, so don't take it that way. Its just that people should understand the whole picture :)

yes, all of which from the same extensive test :)

if you're healthy the "headache" is just the brain adjusting to information delivered "in a new way" by the eyes. it's the same when you wear for the first time a new pair of specs.

actually most 3ds users are complaining about no more "wow" effect after been really used to it.
