Nah, the price will go up to the £200 mark once zelda & co make an appearance :/

Still though. Cant help but laugh at the early adopters, paying £55 more for a console with only 1 good game.

It wont the original DS never went down due to lack of games. It's selling bad due to the bad reputation it's getting thanks to people complaining of headeyes and sore eyes etc.. People are suggesting only playing in 2D so then others are thinking what's the point in getting this? So therefore I chalk this up as a failure it will be sub £100 come Christmas time and a new DS will be announced come E3 2012.

It should automatically credit it to you soon after it's been dispatched :) This is on top of the 1650 points you get for the cost of it.

You can only get the 4000 points when you purchase the console between the dates of, 13/05/11 and 26/05/11.

oh,so if you wait until tommorow it could be the same price as the blue one then?

ah well, thanks anyway.
#15
Damn, why is the blue one still £197?

Grainger Games currently has the black ones for £149 (in store only though) on a limited offer.
#17
this concept has failed, which i thought it would - no console should damage you, and to then be advised to play a 3d game in 2d, may as well stick to a dsi or ds lite (like me).

it will continue to drop until it hits a level where everyone grabs one (£99 i suspect) and then it may well rise again. wouldnt be the first, wont be the last time a console does it.

It's the most popular colour.

You can barely string a sentence together and yet seem to have a strong opinion on the 3DS even though you don't own one.

This will be back up to £195 once GAME have shifted some stock of the less popular black console.

Deal voted hot. It's a great price for anyone who's still thinking about getting one.

A good number of people paid this price at launch using the Tesco Deal of console + game & cash back.

On another note Game, Nintendo and others already cleared up that they have had little to no returns from customers complaining about their eyes and sickness.

The 3D is a selling point for the casual's anyway I wouldn't miss it if it wasn't there, the 3DS can stand on it's own legs without the 3D as it is a step up from the DS and anyone who actually cares about the games will understand the increased possibilities it gives developers.

Bought two at launch but got them for around £170 - the blue one isn't nicer then the black one. The blue one looks cheap and tacky. If you haven't played it yet then you don't have an opinion. I had ALL previous versions of GB/DS and this is a fantastic machine with loads of potential. Better than my PSP too!

Prices will shoot up when the heavies come in, but they are still far off, Mario 3DS is slated to be shown properly at E3, release date is anyone's guess, Zelda is slated for June, MGS 3D for November

its a forum, not an essay - we all have out styles of writing. it wasnt like it was gibberish. besides its not the 3DS but 3D itself i have a problem with.

and yeah it figures the sleek, black 3ds hasnt sold as much as the naff blue one.

and the reason being? girls buy the 3ds, and girls dont like black. they went for the pink ds and psps too. if i had a choice then i would choose black.

Can't wait for Metal Gear, Resident Evil x2, Zelda and whatever gets announced next month -)

This is now £149 in lots of places. GAME need to revise their price.

Since when does new tech go up in price after launch? The early adopters get stuffed with a premium price and then the price starts dropping after several weeks (unless the maker happens to be Apple). The only direction the 3DS is going pricewise is down and then down some more as its not selling as Nintendo hoped it would. The local CEX was looking for £280 on release. I have become more and more amused as they can't flog them and the price drops off every week. Last I looked it was £170 new. Soon be sub £150. £129.99 looms large i reckon.

Or..paying effectively the same price as this if you got the tesco deal (taking into account clubcard points). Maybe £10-£15 more if you take into the account the game points also? nothing like £55.

Good deal regardless.

Nintendo did not set the price in the UK, the retailers did.

Prices regularly go up and down on after a products launch, depending on supply and times when customers need to be enticed. If the customers bite the limited time lower prices then the price is raised again after a while and people carry on buying due to the raised interest in the system.
