There seems to be plenty of offers on the 3DS at the moment, but this is perhaps the best to date?
HMV are doing it for £170 when bought with a game for £34.99. Unfortunately the games are limited to either; Ghost Recon, Spliner Cell or Rayman but there aren't that many killer titles are present so its not a major restricyion! That takes it to £204.99 but use code 5OFFHMV40 to bring it down to just under £200. When you take into account Quidco & HMV's "Pure" loyalty scheme aswell it seems pretty reasonable to me!

Good deal. 2% Quidco.

Too bad it doesn't include Lego Star Wars :( That's the one I really want.

For gods sake! Why did you have to put this on! I'm so tempted to get one! Damn you!

p.s have some heat!

This is not as good as the (now expired) Tesco deal which worked out to be £185 with a game after cashback.

However, this is still a solid deal.

Where was that?
I thought it was £175 when you buy a 3ds with a game(the game being an extra £32 on top)?

is this instore as well? have aload of vouchers :)

Would rather buy console seperately and get street fighter, as that seems to be the only worthwhile game to play.

Really hope the NGP doesnt have such a weak launch lineup.

someone should telephone the chaps at "GAME" and tell em about this...

Got a pile of games waiting here due to University work, I'm more than willing to wait until there is a less fugly one ala DS -> DS Lite

(though admittedly probably not a great deal smaller).

I still reckon Best Buys (and the fact you can haggle!) was the best

They were offering for £209.99, a 3DS, Ridge Racer 3D, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and a case!

I went in with my daughter and said it was rubbish as seemingly aimed at boys. He asked what I wanted.

I said the 3DS, Nintendogs and Super Monkeyball 3D and the case. I said I would pay the difference between Pokemon and the extra 3D game (a fiver!) and I got it!!!

Best Buy are so easy to deal with!

Nah Tesco entertainment was better at £187 with pilot wings (this price is with quidco but it has tracked). Had to return mine for a replacement as left shoulder button was raised and very clicky. 10 day turn around for my replacement is a load of carp as well....at least I can say I had mine a day before release :(

Ghost recon is also awesome.
#14
there is no doubt that out of the 3 games "Ghost Recon" is the one to choose! Apparently it's a good game but not very 3D and was clearly going to be a vanilla release on the DS then given a last minute spit & polish for the 3DS

Heat added :3

Just be aware that apparently this in intended for kids over 7 years old as it could hurts the eyes of younger kids based on what the guy told me at the shop. That put me off and my daughter did not like it at all. She said she prefers the game with the 3d off. So i will pass at this

That deal is just one of many.

This here is the deal in question:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/pre-order-nintendo-3ds-console-187-delivered-store-tesco-direct/896774

£197 - £10 = £187. Then add £10 for the game making this £197. Then less 6.06% cashback = £185 for the 3DS and a game.

Having played on the 3DS and especially playing SF4, I've got to say I am not impressed with the 3D. It reminds me of those holograms you used to get with jellied sweets when you were a kid.

I think the 3D effect is amazing to be honest.

I'd rate it higher than the best 3D movies in regards to depth, graduation and solidity of objects. Of course the quality varies depending on the game. As devs get more used to it they'll learn to tweek the camera angle to make the most of the effect.

Seems to work best on games where you have one main character to focus on (like Nintendogs+cats) or games with a deep field of view (Pilotwings,Ridge Racer,Pro Evo).

Only negatives I've found is there can be a bit of ghosting/crosstalk of images when you have a very bright object on a dark background (or vice versa)....and on games like Pilotwings, with all the twists and turns, you can find yourself unconsciously swerving your body to avoid objects... so you can lose the sweet spot. You just have to force yourself to sit still.X)
