Was shopping about recently for a 3DS best price I could find online was £165, went into GAME in Stockport today to find they had an offer on for a 3DS for £148.99. Was the same price for both the Blue and the Black.

It was not that it failed but it was way too expensive at launch. I got it at Gamestation with this deal and I like the console. So voting this hot. It just depends on if you have Grainger Games and Game/Gamestation in your area.

Hot from me!

This isn't the price in Newcastle (grainger game heartland) so this might be one of the only stores doing it. Think it's back up to about £189 now due to the release of zelda

what are some people on about? The price won't drop now, yes it has over the past month but it's been to get people to buy it for the good games line up, Zelda oot, resident evil, metal gear solid, Mario (good version) luigis mansion, star fox, smash brothers, final fantasy and hopefully they will do majoras mask and wind waker too. I have a 360 and ps3 too but I would MUCH rather have games remade in HD for example all of the above and mgs hd collection with silent hill so on so on instead of boring fps time after time. I used to like rainbow six Vegas and cod but it makes fps games boring because there are new ones most Fridays. Good games are where the fun is at, instead of just rushing through to beat your friends score or whatever. But 360 is going DOWNhill, the only good game is gow3 and I think the last awesome game was gta4 about 3 years ago. Anyway get the 3DS I has the obvious (3D) and also good games. The price won't go down below £150 for at least 8 months or so until the psvita is out.

I thought £148.99 was a really good price I was betting on having to pay £160+ when I went into town. :)

It's a good price TBH but I still think 3D is a gimmick. It won't kick off until it's TRULY glasses free - as in cinema quality glasses free.

I take it you haven't seen one in the flesh then? The 3D on them is outstanding.

3DS is awesome.

Missus loves it, shes been playing on it all night, says Zelda is awesome in 3D. :)

I loved the AR shooting game that was fun and unexpected!

I think the 3DS will drop in price shortly before the release of PSVITA (November) The PSV is so much more than the 3DS and Nintendo must know this.

I want a 3DS as it seems to be getting good quality games. Not buying just yet as I am hoping for a special edition console. I always miss out on the special variations on everything as I tend to buy fairly early. A nice RE Revelations or MGS Snake eater theme would be nice.

Very good price though, a good sign that it will be affordable for me down the line or as pinchez had said - I can see the vita making Big N to either drop the price a little, add some extras at no cost or announce the inevitable Apple style yearly upgrade.

Has an edge card or similar been developed for this yet?
#20
There is a problem with nintendo 3ds. As the screen is so small the eye strains adjusting to the 3d images.

thanks

What's an Edgecard or Acecard? These enable you to down load copied games etc?

I have owned every Nintendo portable since the grey Game Boy but I don't (yet) have a 3DS. Maybe I will wait until they announce one with a bigger screen.
#24
There hasn't been a flash cart developed that runs 3DS roms yet.

Great price even though 3D is gay.

I had a go on one in argos. Game me and my son headaches. And nothing to do with 3d as i have a 50" 3d tv.
Definately made me feel sick and feel like i was going bozz eyed (thats not dven a word!!).
Not for me. Can't wait for the new Sony ngp thingy.

Cod on the go!!

Must agree with earlier poster regarding Nintendo making games fun and playable. I still have my Snes rigged up. Best gaming console ever. The Super Mario world/ allstars and Donkey Kong games were proper games for me. I have 360 and Ps3 as well. But games now are definately not made towards playability.

PS vita looks like a.... PSP, wont be a game changer, will be expensive and fade into the background again, yawn

Don't be silly now. It has dual analog, capable of near 360 quality visuals and brings both front and rear touchscreens to the table.

Also the Wifi only version (the only one you'll need) is retailing for $249. Sure the UK price of £229 isn't as good value but we've been used to that for years. The 3ds launched at the same price.

Good price but i prefer the XL to a 3DS because of the screen quality, i dont like the way the 3DS's screen when switched into 3D goes Dim / murky and loses brightness a common side effect/trait of most 3D TV's/Projectors.

That was the first thing i thought about the 3ds. Just looks like a Ds. Graphics were not much of an improvement hence me being apprehensive of them from first glance.

The vita on the other hand looks a million miles away from a psp.

It only strains your eyes if you've got the slider up higher than your eyes can handle. Turn it down a bit.

No idea why they are discounting that by £51, very dodgy for those who work in-stores unless there is a local competitor selling at that price!
