Unsurprising to see it go cold but anyone know of a better trade in deal? Game only offer £180/190.........
#2
Good prices, CEX's trade-in prices for it have flew down. voted hot
#3
Nice one, probably not gonna be roasting as it just came out but there will probably be people out there who think the 3DS isn't all that, I personally think it's a stupid thing to get excited over but that's just me.

Thanks for the tip on the android app :)

Fantastic prices. Ill be taking mine in today. Good little console but the 3d is blatantly going to be a gimmick and gives me a headache every time i use it.
#6
nice little app for android,, might have a browse and see if it's worth taking anything

good deal , although i would see why people would want to get shut of this machine , having finally had ago on one these this week it left me feeling sick after 5 mins , and not to mention the fact that i was hughly disapointed , it states 3d , more 3d in respect that its depth and space rather than , 3d you see on the bluray and cinema that consistantly jumps out at you.

So, they're selling for £197 and buying for £200.

Can't imagine why their business is in trouble

I like my 3ds. It doesn't give me a headache. The AR games are really clever so I'll be keeping mine. I'm looking forward to buy the cheaper traded in games tho.

I get more of a headache playing games on my iPhone if I'm honest

The 3DS was advertised on a clipboard outside my local HMV for £180 when bought with a selected game.

Can somebody please volunteer to ring and confirm or post after checking in store that they are indeed offering £180 cash.
#12
It's £170 with selected games, online.

i'm seriously contemplating this, i bought the system with Rayman. The game gives me a headache after about 15mins of play. The firmware menus appear to be ok, not really had much of a go on the AR games to comment. I'm thinking as Rayman is thrid party, the 3D could be better. May hold out for Zelda but this trade in may be a safer bet

How about you do it yourself!?!?!?!?!

I got £190 cash for my 3DS in GAME on Friday

I heard on the radio this morning they are only offering refunds until Thursday because so many people have returned the 3DS due to headaches..... so if you fancy trading it might be better to do it sooner rather than later.

I presume everyone getting nausea and headaches have other health problems. I know half a dozen people with a 3DS and they are all fine.

If your feeling ill or have a headache playing it, drop the slider down.....simples!
#20
Vast majority of those returning wont of even read the health guide included, which advises of play times, 3D usage and how to turn it off, I don't own one yet, but im buying 3 this year for the kids xmas and ill buy closer when the launch titles are 10quid or so and there is a greater selection of over used Ninty mascot based games ;-).

The HMV Replay app is also on the App Store, so if you have an iPhone, Touch etc you can download it for free :)

Ive got one, I have read the play guides/instructions and me, my wife and all our friends suffer from headaches and sickness when playing in 3d. I bought,it for my wife for her birthday and she loves the machine but hates the 3d. Whatever anyone says the 3d just does not work as intended! Nintendo themselves have changed their stance and have actually now come out and said that no game will be made where 3d is essential for gameplay. If this isn't an admission of failure then I don't know what is! If it was up to me i'd be taking it back for a refund!

Voting hot just for the info about the android app! Very helpful, now if only game/gamestation/CEX could do the same!
Good deal as well though, I paid £195 for mine and then used £15 credit off my game card so £180, I'd actually make a bit of profit if I were to trade it in! Won't be doing that though as I love my 3DS!

So, they'll give me £200 credit for it and they'll sell it back to me for £197?

I might just spend all day in HMV trading in and buying back the same 3DS while building up hundreds of £££ in HMV credit :D

I'd like to trade in my 3DS. Oh, I've changed my mind, can I buy it back? Oh on second thoughts, it gave me headaches, can I trade it in. Oh but I really liked it, can I buy it back? ......................

Hours of fun.

I love my 3DS and the only game that gives me a headache is Super Monkey Ball. With the others I have the slider down to about 20% which still gives great 3D effect.

I can't understand returning it though - even if I turned off the 3D and never used it again I would hate to miss out on the Streetpass and Spotpass functions which are fab. Plus you can still play your old games on it anyway.......

i'm giving the 3DS a second chance. Called Asda and their offering £25 trade in for Rayman so im gonna grab PilotWings later. They are apparently selling the game for £32.97 so not a bad trade for less than a tenner and its a Nintento title and no 'ghosting' issues hopefully oO
#28
I can't believe that people would be getting rid of their 3DS, which has an admitidly poor current line up, before Zelda, Resident Evil and MGS are released!

Give it a chance folks!
#29
I've played my 3DS almost every day for 1hr min since I got it, no problems here. At first I had to fiddle with the 3D slider to find the level that was comfortable for me, but hey - that's what it's there for, right?

I found with Pilotwings just above minimum was best - nice sense of 3D but no eye strain - whereas Ghost Recon feels cool at about the halfway mark.

It's a great little device, though - love it, even the silly stuff like collecting Miis on StreetPass.

Original DS is £45,
DS Lite is £55,

On a trade in that is.

Surely if you ring yourself it'll be constantly engaged? Or go to answerphone?

Have the 3DS with PES 2011 and STF4 3D, no headaches, no issues and I would not return it at all. Heat added though. Can't wait for Zelda and metal gear snake eater.
#34
Going to do this tomorrow with all 4 games. I am just not going to spend the time on it and could do with the cash. Impulse gets the better of me...again. Will re-buy when software improves.
#35
Today, I went to Moorgate branch to trade my 3ds. They told me to wait for checking up. After 20mins a lady come back and talk to me that they can't find AR cards and I can't trade in because it is part of the console. Basically what they did is stealing all of my menus and all the AR cards. I try to talk for 30mins and I gave up. I got her name and I'll try to inform to HMV.
#36
I might just trade mine in tomorrow too, not really using it as much as I should so I can get my money back
#37
Can anyone confirm I can still do this tomorrow as it says up to 7th April, also I don't need to have bought it from hmv do I?
#38
yes I traded mine today and the guy said the last day is tmr. Just make sure you bring two forms of ID with you (with address)
#39
Ah right thanks, wouldn't have brought them, What do they need photo id or utility bills?

Please check your console before you give it to stuff for testing. They are very dodgy now.
