The new Nintendo 3DS XL is the new entry to the Ninteno handheld family. Available in 3 colours Red, Blue and Silver. The 3DS XL offers a better battery life and 90% larger screens than the current 3DS! (4.88 inch top and a 4.18 inch bottom) with the same resolution.

Don't forget you can still play DS games on this beast. Also bundled with a 4GB SD card so plenty of space for Nintendo eshop games - and future (starting with the new mario game) Nintendo 3DS titles will offer digital downloads.

** Please be aware that there is no AC adapter or cradle with this as they are sold separately.

I'm gonna wait and see reviews/comparisons before upgrading my 3DS to this. The screen is 90% bigger but the same resolution, that can't be good!

Just remember you need to buy a charger on top of this, as you dont get one included.

Not to put a downer on this but: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/the-150-3ds-xl-the-race-is-on/098466

Which is what this is priced up at before the voucher.

Cheers for that...pre-ordered.

Don't know why they did that for us when the American version gets one included. I think if enough people complain, then they'll add one in.

Im guessing this will use the same charger as the 3DS but can anyone confirm this for me or be able to tell me if they require a newer specific charger... i know the dsi then the dsi xl shared the same charger then the 3DS came out with a new so im guessing likewise they will use the same charger for both 3DS and 3DS XL but as they are selling this console without a charger it makes me wonder if this is for them to make more money and so could suggest to me they would introduce a new kind of charger :| unsure tho so would help if anyone could confirm any of this for me

They are 2p dearer than Zavvi before the voucher, and £10.02 dearer after...that's why this is a better deal. I'm sure those that have had trouble with Zavvi wouldn't agree, but I've had no problems with them yet.

It's showing how much Zavvi will have paid per unit. If they've paid ~£167.50, they're not going to sell it to us for £158.

Not sure exactly where in the video, but he mentions it uses the same charger as the original.

As it's an discount voucher, I don't see why not....but they may well try to weasle out of it, so we'll wait and see.

yes this is abit weird also that U.S. price is $200, which is just over £128.50 compared to this deal price being £157.95 and we don't even get a charger... :|

Actually, just checked the vouchers section, and it says the SUMMERSAVER code isn't meant for pre-orders, electronics or consoles....can only hope they somehow don't notice or decide to honour it anyway (highly doubtful).

Doh, so it does. I wonder though if this is an exception because normally these codes will say if they are not valid for your order. At least that's how some of my Zavvi / TheHut orders have operated in the past.

still no duel analogue sticks built in! voted cold.

Was announced on Friday, a mere month before the release.

They probably had it ready when they released the first one. Its about making money and creaming in every penny they can. Whats the bet they will release another version with 2 thumb sticks next.

You vote for the deal, not a hardware revision that very few games actually utilise which would split their hardware market and royally **** off existing owners.
The Circle Pad Pro is optional for a few games that need it....there's no need for it to be a standard. It would've been nice, but completely inessential.

yes they made it extra large (90% screen wise) then decided they would not ship a memory card with this or charge adaptor unless its to the US oh and removed the charge cradle previously received free with a 3DS lol plus SUMMERSAVER not being valid for pre-orders :p

very Hot but i will wait for local video game shops to start their trade in offers (hopefully). i will trade my 3DS for XL. :)

All companies are about making money...what a ridiculous notion to use for a criticism. They had an XL version of the DSi aimed at the older market who wanted a bigger screen....I don't recall this much whining then. All console makers this generation have had multiple hardware revisions...how many PSP's have there been? You think they won't do another version of the Vita?

It will have a 4 gig card in ours...where do you get the idea it wont? Only the adapter has been (stupidly) left off the UK version.
#30
hmm i'll stick with my 3ds and CPP and wait for the Nyko power grip pro instead :3

You vote for the deal. The OP can't help what Nintendo decides to pack and not pack in as standard.

UPDATE: A second retail source has contacted MCV to point out that a trade price of £146 would incur an additional VAT bill of around £21.50 per unit, meaning the actual trade price would be around £167.50.

Making this deal "below" trade price, so it will not get cheaper.

They're all coming with a 4Gb memory card rather than the old 2Gb, no idea where everyone is getting the idea there isn't one oO

As much as a charger should be included, you can get one for under £2 luckily.

Exactly. It's a slightly fairer point about the cradle, but even then if you get a protective case you have to remove it to fit it in the thing...I prefer just using the cable.
