Time to race...no wires attached. The acclaimed Mario Kart series has gone wireless, letting players race and battle with up to eight karts at once, regardless of whether everyone has a game card. An all-star cast that includes Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, Bowser and Toad will round out a truly all-star lineup of more than 30 courses drawn from every Mario Kart game. That's right -- players will tour courses from Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuitand Mario Kart: Double Dash, not to mention brand-new tracks and arenas. With all the crazy items and frantic speed players have come to expect, this game is a Mario Kart fan's dream. The game has a new dimension of fun, since players can battle others around the world by connecting to Nintendo's new wireless gaming service, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, via Wi-Fi.

I'd definately recommend this if you have kids. I have two dss, the lite and the old style one. The lite has taken a battering and the case is ******ed, but the old style is still going strong and has survived being thrown down the stairs and thrown on the floor during a temper tantrum. The downfall with the old style is that the screen isn't as bright and clear, but for kids its fine. Its a bit bulkier as well.

Nice find dpb_69, great price for a ds bundle!

I've added an image to your post, for help on how to do this check out the links in my signature

Once you go lite you can't go back to phat.
#11
I'd want it cheaper than that give it's not a lite. But interesting spot. I wonder where HMV found them?

How much would you pay for a DS then? You could easily get £10 on Ebay for the game... probably £15... making the DS £45-£50 brand new delivered.

My niece wants a DS lite but for her to save up to £90 for one is going to take quite a few more months. £50 would get her one of these now. So any recommendations as to where to get one for less would be welcome.

One pound vouchers if you're buying this one from HMV

Hi i got nds light for 68.99 off ebay had too wait 2 weeks from hong kong and it was buy now.
#15
You can get most things cheaper on eBay so eBay prices don't matter much here. Much less hassle getting it from stores from my experiences. Ebay's more risky plus you sometimes get into unwanted bidding wars.
#16
and if ordering from outside the uk watch out for tax!

Is this a new one, not a lite i mean not a refurb or anything, so tempted for the little guy as he does want a lite but think this would be far stronger
#18
Just a note, the later revisions of the old style have the Chip inside to allow you to change backlight brightness. To enable it, you need to flash your DS with something like FlashMe. All this does is put DS Lite firmware onto it (with the added bonus of getting rid of the health and safety screen -- if you want) which allows changing of the backlight.

A warning though, if your not careful you CAN brick your DS and the process voids your warranty (though if you dont flash it with the one that removes the health and safety screen they generally cant tell, and you can always flash it back!)

FlashMe Tutorial: Search YouTube, plenty on there.

You'll need an R4DS or something that can run homebrew code to actually do this, loads of thse cartridges cheap on dealextreme.com

You can't trade in this forum, all trading has to be done in the "For Sale/Trade" forum.
There are 1 or 2 for sale. :)

Wheres the Stock of Oldies.!!!

This is for my 4 year old son to play on so he doesnt mangle my PSP and Wii. lol

I still have my old DS. think I'll trade it in for a DS lite from cex. This is a brilliant console, especially if combined with a ttds/R4ds/M3

Wow, I'm clearly in a minority here, but I can't for the life of me see any reason to get this old version?

£50 for this version versus £90-£100 for the Lite. I can see a clear reason.

for my little guy i think this may withstand alot more than the ds lite
#32
the game costs £25. that means the ds is £35!
#33
Good deal, the DS is a great machine, I'm learning Spanish on mine at the moment.
#34
Can't vote this as hot as the old DS is now too old.
#35
Excellent purchase for my 5 year olds birthday next month, was considering a lite but on advice here this will be much more robust with her 3 year old brother throwing it around!

Theres my laugh of the day.

Just grabbed one for myself, admittedly the screen is not as bright but it's a good buy.

I have a sneaky feeling that HMV won't have enough stock to meet demand on this one though despite it still showing as "In Stock"
#38
ive just bought one and im nearly 21

I always thought the DS was designed for Alzheimers patients anyway, why else would they release the BT games? The TV ads seemed to be aimed at the older generation.....
