Nice find zerowing,

Could you add "Instore @ Argos, Manchester" to the title for those of us that read the page in "Text only". :)

Good spot - Manchester's no good to me but I'll have a peek locally :)

I guess this is a good deal, but as there have been a number of other similar offers posted on HUKD recently for different stores, I wonder if the managers have been given the low-down on a future price cut, and are looking to get rid of excess stock etc while they can.

Hmm Manchester nowhere near me, but will check around.

Is it just me or am I the only one thinking that technically £75 is still a lot for a DS? I reckon the price should come right down now.

Any other confirmed sightings? :)

I agree, considering how cheap they must be to manufacture, they are still pretty pricey. My wife got one for £40 second hand in mint consition (unit was about 3 months old) so it's occassionally possible to find them cheaper.

just got a blue one second hand for £37 with a years warranty :)

was shocked to see game sellin 2nd hand ones for £89 lol

just to let you know, the managers specials at this store are items that have been bought and returned.
My friend bought one and when he opening it it was NOT new.

Chul is correct. These are returned, checked and refurbished, according to Argos staff.

This branch have NO DS lites at this price, but do have the Wii.

I've been into the branch and been told this by the Argos staff member wearing a Wii Fit t-shirt during this lunchtime. I work 5 mins walk away and nipped in.

Don't make a special trip, you may as well buy from ebay at these prices.

Odd as the DS was (is?) specifically excluded from their returns policy unless faulty.

Hey this is a manager's special, which means they have one item in the store which is ex-display. What is the point of posting this?????????? COOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

where from? (he asks, greedily)...

It's amazing how long these have held their price, they have been £100 since they were launched years ago, even the original DS (not lite version) was £100, they should be down to about £70 by now as standard.

I guess as long as people keep paying it they'll keep charging it, they must surely start seeing a decline in sales soon though, which should then encourage a price drop at last.

They maybe excluded but can be brought back if something is wrong with them eg. missing stylus pen in which case they may be put as a managers special. If the staff feel that the item is usable and can be resold then it will be resold (not done in all stores) and they are not ex-display as ds and wiis wont go on display as they would end up getting stolen like most of argos items on the shop floor haha
