Do they give FREE £10 voucher for buying £100 gift vouchers ?

Excludes the purchase of gift vouchers using gift vouchers as a method of payment.

Clever idea nevertheless :)

Someone else posted on here that it works, so I'm just 'stealing' their idea. I'm not sure whether Argos have caught wind of it though, some people seem to think they have, others are still successful.

I havn't gone for this as I went for the £80 option using John Lewis £20 discount code instead. Not bothered about games as I bought an R4 card

What's an R4 card?

I'd like to know if they issue the free gift voucher when buying gift vouchers as I quite fancy an Xbox 360 Elite for £270!
#5
Well they did when I bought my son's DS at the weekend. Bought £100 of vouchers & got £10 voucher back. Went in the same store 10 mins later & bought the DS, accessories & game & paid with the £110 vouchers & got another £10 back, which went towards another Xmas pressie.
#6
hmmmm- so by that rationale - the Elite will only 'cost' £260!!
#7
worth a try, but the website does say that free £10 voucher does not apply to gift vouchers

i.e you can't buy vouchers and pay for them with vouchers - therefore continuously increasing the number of vouchers you have for free.

It's not supposed to work but I think it just depends on the person you get as the cashier and hope they make a mistake but could obviously get into trouble.

One of my friends gf was sacked from Argos when she kept a voucher that the customer forgot to collect, so I think they will get in some form of trouble if they're handing out too many vouchers by mistake.

I've done it several times in the last week or so. It isn't a mistake to get a £10 voucher when you buy a £100 gift voucher. As noted above, the only thing you are not allowed to do is purchase vouchers with vouchers. In buying the £100 voucher, you are spending £100 at Argos which qualifies. It comes up on their till to give you voucher. You also qualify for a further £10 voucher when you spend the £100 voucher.

If you are planning to buy a lot or expensive items from Argos then buying gift vouchers in multiples of £100 or £50 to the amount you need is the way to go at the moment. Say with the XBox Elite it's £299... buy 3 x £100 vouchers, each one as a separate transaction and get 3 x £10 vouchers back. Pay for the XBox with the £300 of vouchers and you'll get another £10 back... enough for some accessories or a game to go with your lovely new machine.

I keep reading about this r4 card, had a look at the website but it's all double dutch to me.
Can anybody give me a quick non-techie idea of what it's for, and if it's worth buying.
Cheers
Jeff

Well that's the Elite knocked on the head! -Argos are out of stock in all stores within 100 miles of me!!!

ah well - it will be mine, one day! - gives me time to find a buyer for my premium!

Please ignore:oops: Just found the other thread!

I'm not 100% certain this will work (not in my local anyway) as I have found that the staff don't tend to understand their own terms and conditions on any promos they issue. Even though, as it reads, you should be able to get the £10 voucher on a £100 voucher spend I'm sure the staff will say no.
#16
Don't they offer Zelda for the same price instead of two ****** games. I'm sure I've seen it advertised.
#17
Just to say, this should still work no problem. I had to buy a set of drawers which were around £50. Bought a £50 gift card and got £5 free. Then went off and did some more shopping. Went back in and bought the drawers with the gift card and got another £5. So ,no reason why it shouldn't work. Look at it as a DS for christmas, and some vouchers for another present for someone!

DS Lite + Essentials Pack + Incredibles + Scooby Doo £109.95

I went into my local store today and bought a £100 gift voucher (got £10 free)

I then went to buy the DS + game + essentials pack for (£99.95) - It wasn't going through the till so they had to get the manager, who then told me I could get both games for an extra tenner!

I then also got another £10 voucher free - so £20 in total!

Hope this helps someone!

The assisstant couldnt get this deal on the till, she was told to add the Stylus kit too -568/0360 and hey presto it came to £99.95 This deal was suppose to be £119.99 I think. Got my £10 voucher too so not complaining at all. Used the £100 giftcard, Total £80.00 :whistling:

shaani what newspaper deal?
ps
i buy this using £100 of voucherS?
cash or card??
Next, can i then use my nectar card to earn points?
Can i also redeem some of my nectar vouchers to use some of my gift vouchers and some of my nectar vouchers?
#22
I cannot seem to find this online?
#23
The deal is the same as started on this thread but add the stylus kit in too 568/0360 because these four items make the deal, I also saw this deal in the argos leaflets instore (sorry cant remember which bargain leaflet it was as i left it with the assistant as we tryed to sort the offer out on the till.)There is an error in it as it doesn't mention the Stylus kit. So add that too when ordering then the price comes back and dont forget to add something to make it to £100 I bought a travel plug. p.s Buy your £100 vouchers first to get your extra £10.00 then go back to order using different till!

Regarding the 1st post, can you buy a pink ds as part of this deal or does it have to be black one?
#29
Fryster can you edit your post as the offer includes both games. Thanks

The offer was in a newspaper and definately said one game or the other. It also said it expires today so be quick!:)

Got one for my daughter yesterday. Bought the vouchers from Milton Keynes and the Nintendo from Luton Gipsy Lane.

As expected, it came up at the full price at the till but then the manager was called who sorted it out.

Tried to replace the black one with a pink one but I was told the offer is only on the black ones as they have plenty of them. I thought my daughter would be happier with a pink one but when I took it home she said no I always wanted the black!

In my days girls used to prefer pink stuff, things change apparently ;-)

Heat and rep added of course, thanks very much.

Went to Bletchley and got £100 of vouchers then came home to study the deals as couldn't for the life of me work out which combination was 'best' given that what I really wanted was a silver DS and either Cooking Mama or Nintendogs.

Went to Milton Keynes to ask for the black deal but with a silver DS and was told no way, even by a manager.

Went back to Bletchley and asked for a silver one, got to speak to a manager who overrode the deal on the till.

Came away with Silver DS, Scooby Doo and an accessories pack for £80 - well happy. Was gonna put the £20 vouchers towards the 2 games for £30 offer, but couldn't decide on anohter game so decided to wait. Spotted a really badly written ebay add by a newbie and got Nintendogs for £5.23 delivered - got it today and its immaculate!

A good week for bargain hunting!
