This must be imported right? As far as I am aware, Crimson Red and Black is only available in America so you might need a UK power adaptor if it is imported.

Also the black isn't glossy black (like on the black NDS), it's matt black.

Decent price considering it's same price as the standard colours.

great price for a crimson red IMO

Don't forget 4% quidco.

thats cuz im a dullard an searched simply games.com
#7
not heard of this site - are they safe + reliable?
#8
I think maybe if you can try to cancel first order and then reorder via quidco. I can't guarantee if this will work, maybe some1 in here can verify this.
#9
Just to let you guys know, this will be an import system from North America, and you will require a UK mains adaptor to charge it (unless they have included one).

It can also be gotten from videogamesplus.ca for £10 cheaper.

ds or psp which one should i choose?
#12
I have one of these crimson ds's, they look fantastic irl. 99 is a good price ,they've been going for 120+ on ebay.
#13
As far as I am aware if you have a UK invoice The warranty is covered
If you buy this outside the EU it will not be covered by the Nintendo European Warranty
The power adapter for me is no issue we already have a couple of NDS and they are cheap from fleabay
But don't forget some other colors are available
Emailed them to ask about the mains adapter and also confirm Warranty

Will update as / when I know more...

There is a UK shortage of NDS especially £99 most places I have looked are in packages (who wants a package when R4 will do!)
#14
Nice, although not so for the couple of people who have bought second hand versions on this foum last week... Glad I resisted. Heat and rep added for sharing this. Hope the stock levels hold for plenty of members.
#15
Gutted! I bought my daughter one from ebay in January, cost me £130(as only had a week until birthday) to get from a uk seller as I originally bought from hong kong for £96 inc postage and they let me down.

Did get the ice blue from hong kong for £96(inc postage) and no import fees.
#16
For warranty you need to register it on nintendo.com(usa) not nintendo.uk. Uk and usa versions have different ways of registering them so has to be nintendo.com
#17
for warranty you don't need to register at all, just email codestorm (nintendo's customer service reps) and they'll send you a prepaid sticker to return a broken ds to them. all you need to do is supply proof of purchase.

You can use any usb leads from any digital camera.
Anyone has either a gameboy usb charger or any of those 1 pound job of usb to main charger will do the trick.

Won't you be plowing 220V into a device that is made for 110V, then? An adapter is recommended...

Is this true or does the DS have a convertor / step down in it - so could just use a UK charger?

yes, quite. Great little dedicated USB chargers from deal extreme though. Got this one and very good for £1.20 delivered: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3152

I bought a Jap import DS over a year ago a Uk mains adapter works fine.
#25
it doesnt need any step down
the input voltage and ampage(going into the ds) is the same for all ds ,be jap,usa or uk
a 110v adaptor used in the us supplies the same output,as a 240v uk adaptor used here.

The charger itself should have the transformer to take it down to 1.7v or whatever it uses.

Does the DS Lite use the same charger as the Gameboy Micro? I have read one review that dsays it does but I can't vonfirm this anywhere else. The picture of the DS charger looks very similar to the GBMicro charger.

cheers all - i think i'll order one (even though Ive just bought my second Wii and Ive got a PS3 + XBOX 360. Greedy me thinks) ;-)

...well once I get warranty info confirmned
#28
There shouldn't be any doifference in specs with the Wi-Fi between the US and UK models should there? I can't see any reason why - I'm just trying to prevent any nasty surprises if I decide to order one of these lovely looking devices. :-)

Just tried to order and only pink or white left! Never mind - will need to look lesewhere.

Doh! spent so long trying to research the power supply question I've missed out! Quite fancied the Crimson one! Never mind.

From what I can find out it seems that the power supply is different to the GB Micro but i still don't know for sure!

Cheers for the update - it said something similar on the page but wasn't sure if that was the standard 'more stocks due in soon' that never come in. Will keep a look out. Still not 100% decided if it would be safer to get a UK model though

I notice the first order has to be shipped to your home address so I've made a small order so that when they do come in stock I can play safe and have it shipped to work.

I bought my first NDS from these, It had one dead pixel which they said was acceptable.
Note the warranty is with Gadget Asia not Nintendo, so you would almost certainly have to pay for postage to ship it back to them. Don't buy a flash cart from these however they are way over priced.

£34 seems reasonable for the R4 seeing as theres a world shortage and te prices is on the forever up. Although Iv bought the CycloDS card.
I think I may just get a DS from Argos, any dead pixels and I'll take it back (seeing as there not really bothred with there returns)

£34 seems reasonable? it's more than double the usual price.

There isn't a "shortage" of R4's either - that's a bit like saying there is a shortage of VHS players; the R4 (whilst a decent flashcart) is outdated and last generation technology.
#38
well im new to this flash cart stuff - but spent all last night on my laptop looking for the R4 as it was recommended. No-one seems to have them (at least under £50) or the DSTT. Most stockists and reports suggest Japan is cracking down on the manafacture of said devices. Now I dont belive everything I read and of course the stockist were using this info to help sell there "other" items but i've simply said what I have found out.

But upon looking a little harder the CycloDS looked good (recently posted here) but that was still £30+

It's definitely just marketting spin - flashcarts are virtually all made in Hong Kong (with some factories on the mainland and in taiwan) not jp.

According to a few sites the reason they are out of stock is chinese customs holding components up:

"For the R4, I am informed that maybe we could arrange the shipment after 23/Mar. As a matter of fact, the CMOP chip we bought from supplier had been detained by customhouse after Chinese New Year, and we keep contact with them all the time for hoping we could have them as early as possible, so that we can offer the goods to all of our clients in time. In view of this situation, we tried to collect the chip or R4 in China, but they are shortage till now, and it is not enough for us to provide to our big clients (just like you). This is why the shipment is delay."

But upon looking a little harder the CycloDS looked good (recently posted here) but that was still £30+

£30 is around the average uk price for a cyclo as it's current generation hardware. It's still expensive for what it is, but at least it's not artificially inflated to double it's usual selling price.

If you are going to spend £30+ then definitely get a cyclo, the R4 is a reasonable cart but does have problems and is only worth half of that.

yea - I bought the Cyclo lastn night
