I bought a black one from ebuyer last week for £97. It arrived quickly. However, box had been opened and a cheapo aftermarket charger had been fitted into box. Box would not close properly so item looked used. Not very good as it was for a Xmas present, so really peed off with Ebuyer. I have been a customer of Ebuyer for years and this has really annoyed me.
I e-mailed them with my concerns and I got a reply basically telling me to request an RMA and return it.
This item is obviously not a UK supplied item. Think it may have been for North American market. However, set language was I think Chinese, so goodness knows what market it was originally for.

I have just ordered a black one from them, has anyone else experienced the same?

Would be good to hear fom anyone with experience of a DS Lite purchase from ebuyer (see my earlier post re. my experience). What is the correct UK charger for the DS?

Yes same as you, been a very satisfied ebuyer customer for over 5 years. Really let me down this time. They did not even respond to my concerns about package been opened, just told me to get RMA and send it back.

Is that not a two pin charger and not three pin as in UK. That looks like what would have been in the box and was removed to replace with bulky UK plug.
See http://www.play.com//ProductOutline.aspx?title=4992655&r=MBLS
Same as this (as supplied in my DS box from ebuyer) from Play, have already got one and it is exactly the same down to same label.

in my picture that's a UK three pin from ebay, official nintendo one, though it may be a different design to the one bundled, US chargers the prongs have also been foldable into the body, the one supplied in UK DS box almost definitely has nintendo logo

Thanks for that. So my one from ebuyer is definitely not a UK spec DS. The charger is marked as a 'Travel Charger', made in China. Is it legal for ebuyer to be doing this without making mention of it in the item description on their website?
Edit. Just noticed I am hogging this post. However, seems that ebuyer are not playing fair here. So just warning folks.

Voted Cold.

Good post, but looks as if ebuyer are letting the side down.

I really want two of these for my kids, but I am not after a dodgy foreign one.

I have ordered and will certainly be sending it back if it is not the UK model.

everyone who's worrying about these. they'll be perfectly fine its just a DS for the US or JAP market thats been imported. same console & specs just different power source. Loads of people (including myself) bought a JAP PSP when they were released, and everything is fine.

Happy shopping!

my charger is a brownish grey colour 3pin uk. Bought from Amazon direct.

rather pay a couple quid extra and get a UK model.

Not really the point though. Ebuyer are not advertising these as 'imports', and are being sold at same price as UK spec. models. Now I am sure you were aware when you bought yours that it was an import, so that is the difference between your purchase and this particular offer of sale from ebuyer.

Also forgot to mention there is no 'Warranty Registration Card' in the box, so item cannot be registered with Nintendo. I actually tried to register my item on the Nintendo website using the code numbers/letters on the bottom of my DS, the code was not recognised!!!!

Thanks for the info wellfan, still looking for a good DS deal

Just gone to buy the item and it has jumped to £99.99! :x

Looking for a DS for a present myself, will need to give this a miss after wellfans comments. Hopefully a decent deal will turn up soon. Voted hot on price tho. Thanks.

Just had it confiirmed from ebuyer that they are US market models, hence the charger swap and lack of warranty card. Not really a good deal unless you are desperate for one of your kids.

I also ordered a black DS last week and was surprised to find it was opened and so investigated further to find that it was not a UK model. Spoke to Nintendo who will not give a 12 month warranty and so it's being returned to Ebuyer. Ebuyer's response was that they will cover the 12 month warranty but that doesn't sound the same to me!

No mention on the Ebuyer website and selling them at the normal price...

The problem with ebuyer covering the warranty is they tend to replace rather than repair. So if none in stock when you return your faulty one, you are stuffed. You will get a pro-rata refund depending on how long you have had it for.
Are ebuyer paying your return postage costs?

my wife got me a guitar hero pack nintendo ds from woolies in north finchley for £112 today. they had the ds by itself in several colours - i think silver was one of them - for £89, due to the 10% off and vat price change.

Sorry peeps, this doesn't seem that good a deal as it may potentially have replaced parts. And to rather go pay the extra £6.87 and get it at £99.99 as a normal price in most stores seems a better bet.

Better still ... try some of the specialist stores where they throw in a semi decent game for around the same price.

Cold from me I'm afraid. Not your fault OP ... rep for posting
