Was kinda hoping these machines would be down to under a ton now that the 3DS is out.

It's hard to justify £120 for an old gen console when you can get a 3DS for £160ish that also plays DS games.

Voted hot though cos its the cheapest but I think I'll keep waiting. Can't be long to go surely!

Received today. Not sure where to find the version of the machine but if you want to know if it will run extra content then the answer is yes.

I'm using an Acekard 2i with akaio 1.8.1 custom firmware. Just swapped it from the old DS and popped it in the new Dsi XL and it's running like a charm :-)

The blue one was 115 on Amazon for a while, but other than that it's a great deal. I already have a 3DS but I still want a DSi XL for my regular DS games as those big screens are wonderful.
@comment above : though very unlikely, he might actually be paying for his games. I have a backup cart with a whole bunch of games, but I paid for each and every one of those. I just like to keep my games in good condition instead of bringing a whole stack of them with me wherever I go.

Nice deal

Do the old DS Lite R4 cards work on these?

Max of £60 more for the next gen console? - just seems like a no-brainer which would make this a non-deal. But each to their own.
#12
meh - ambivalent as best deal around but like others I'd have hoped to see the xl at around the £100 mark. We only paid £108 for a wine red one from sainsburys at xmas.

perhaps when the 3ds xl hits this'll happen - for now perhaps the xl is aimed at a slighlty different demographic than the 3ds.

I agree that £120 is not hot price for it.(I've seen them at £115 posted here before).
BUT if you want to play DS games forget using 3DS.3DS plays DS games in an awkward and horrible way.so while I like 3DS,it's rubbish in playing DS games.and the DSi XL screen is just awesome.

Go to system settings and it should be displayed on the bottom right corner of the top screen if memory serves me correctly

I'm assuming firmware makes a difference from a N4DS perspective???

NO!! He probably wants to find out whether if it is already latest firmware because if it isn't then there is always the possibiity of bricking when doing it yourself. In no way would it to be due to flashcart compatibility. :)

This new yellow one is Ver 1.4.1E

Bought a brown dsi xl 5 months ago for £108 sainsburys 25% off consoles
They should be about that price now with the 3ds out and dsi should be about £90
