Here are the details for the eShop Halloween sale for both Wii U and 3DS. The Sale starts on Thursday 20th October and runs until 3rd November.

I can't claim credit for the formatting - that accolade belongs to the gentlemen at Nintendo Life (http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/10/nintendo_download_20th_october_europe).

I'll put the links in the first post. Some good deals in here - especially on Virtual Console - and some pretty poor prices for some games available elsewhere in the mix, too.

It turns out that the Nintendo store does not have pages for most of these games (even first party ones) so many links will go to the Nintendo Life page (apologies if this contravenes any rules). It's best to buy these games through the Wii U or 3DS consoles anyway.

Yes, but, Pacman Ghostly Adventures 2, really? Better playing the original Pacman or Championship Edition, surely...

£27.99 for Luigi's Mansion 2? That's insane, the game is 2 and a half years old! There's no excuse for these extortionate prices, I keep forgetting how badly the e-shop prices suck. Shame as I really want to pick this game up, but not at that price :/
2 Likes #17
They should just drop all the games by 50% for a weekend. They'd make a killing

You can't please all of the people all of the time...

Ok, some games in the list have received pitiful discounts, still retailing at a near RRP, but, can we look at the positives - just for a minute? A good dozen or so absolute essential games you can pick up for under a fiver in this sale...Aria of Sorrow, Super Castlevania, Super Ghouls N Ghosts, Ghost N Goblins, Year Walk. I'll be seriously considering all of them.

Overclocked for £10 is the only really good buy for 3ds owners. Its not been on sale for years. Also digital version of devil survivor is cool but the physical is a little more in another hukd post and will obviously hold its resale value better! ;)

There was a rumour that Project Zero MoBW might get a reprint so could be worth waiting for.

Nintendo obviously could make their eShop deals a lot more appealing and cheaper but thanks to Pokémon Go, 3DS and all the profitable ways they have to make money they didn't put much effort here.

I didn't expect a Steam sale-type by any chance but this is pretty disappointing.

Disagree. Almost - if not all - 3DS Virtual Console titles are worthy of purchase, particularly at these here prices.

Please, be disappointed, but don't compare Nintendo/eShop games to Steam. This is Nintendo we are talking about. Steam is - while good - little more than trend.

They're being scalped on eBay. EB Games has Project Zero MoBW in stock but they only dispatch within Australia so.. not really much point to bringing it up.

I actually did just buy it on ebay - with the trade-in price at CeX being £46, even at scalper prices it'll probably still work out cheaper in the long run than the digital download.

I'm going to spend about 60 squids on this sale. I've never believe I'll do that in the Nintendo eShop. lol

Castlevania "Retro Collection", Resident Evil 4 Wii, SMT DS2, PacMan Ghostly Adventures 1&2, Year Walk, Pirate Pop Plus... YEAAAAAH.

Let's see if we got more amazing deals on christmas!

Good for you. Trust me, you won't want to trade it in. I own the Limited Edition, one of the few LE's I do own. I always donate my games to charity shops once I'm done with each. I'll NEVER be a scalper.

My plan is to trade my Wii U in and use the money to get an NX on launch - although I'm going to find it hard enough to part with Xenoblade Chronicles X and Tokyo Mirage Sessions as it is...

Christ, Nintendo sales are the worst. It shouldn't be a surprise as they're still charging £50 for digital downloads of games when it makes absolutely no sense for digital games to be more expensive than boxed copies. Maybe the NX will have a more realistic pricing strategy.

Jesus, Nintendo not only gouges us in the UK compared to EU/US prices and then tries to fob us off with these "sales". They still refuse to take digital seriously.
