I take it the big push for them now comes from recent mod news? how many buyers here intend to go that way? just curious.

I hope they do have stock. I've ordered from there before as well as the controller then had cancellation e-mails

Thanks, bought two last year but when I seen the price they where going for I had to let them go. After seeing Nintendos press release I knew I'd get another one this year :)
#13
Didn't last long surely they will get more stock
#14
Waste of money in my opinion. Just download some roms... it's the same thing.

They can be hacked to put custom roms and emulators on now

Have to admit this is the one thing that really piqued my interest in this system. No way would I want to be restricted to the paltry 30 included games, but it would be a really authentic, whilst modern TV friendly, way to enjoy the full NES library with the proper controller and everything.

Just hope it's easy enough to do. my initial concern is where you would actually store the extra roms as it doesn't have ports for sd or usb does it?

It has 512mb of internal storage which has room for the additional roms https://youtu.be/wG9YeTOS29w

But if you are doing that you might as well just get retropi and build your own... probably cheaper than buying one of these and you can use an actual NES pad with a decent cable than the 1metre one you get with this lol.

Well yeah (and that's what I did), but it's pretty cool to get a little official NES and have it run more than it was designed to.

A Pi will always beat it in what it can run, but it's still great that 'they' managed to hack it.

Its possible to fit the entire nes library on it as they have figured out how to play the games from zip files

You can run SNES games on it too apparently, but then you're playing them with a gimped controller.

Exactly... there isn't any point in owning this though lol. I'd rather just put a Pi in one of my Original NES machines lol

You can use a Wii Classic Controller on it. Great for SNES.
