Does anyone know what was the last console that was actually in stock after its first week of sale? These days shortages in supply are cleverly used us a marketing tool, so whenever a console is back in stock everyone just jumps on it. And then the company concerned releases a statement where they say they sold 100% of shipped consoles.

both xbox one and ps4 were pretty easy to get, its nintendo who like to release limited stock which makes it sound like its selling better than it is, its selling well but not as good as giving limited stock so it sells out makes it seem its selling like hot cakes!

Xbox One sure, but PS4 was pretty tough top get a hold off for the first month or two. Not impossible, they had regular deliveries, but you couldn't easily walk in to a shop and grab one off a shelf for quite a while.

I'm also usually amused when they release sold unit figures, but forget to include solid numbers, instead they release percentage values comparing them to previous calculating periods. 'Sales up by 100% in run up to Xmas!' Yeah, when previously you sold 10 units then 100% increase is hardly a game changer.

Truly not enough content available at the moment to warrant any panic buy, certainly for me and I've genuinely had the majority of Nintendo consoles on day of release. Zelda looks fab, but surely got to wait for more, for most anyway...

I'm wating til they sort the joycon issues and the dock issues out.

Probably see a hardware revision before christmas in regards to those issues.

Out of interest which branch did you see the stock in? That info may help those nearby.

There's also quite a lot of Argos stores that have stock of the Grey (and a lot less of the neon)

That's not entirely true - I ordered a PS4 in January following release and I had to wait 3 weeks to get it from amazon

Really ? I couldn't find any Argos store in London with stock and the woman in Argos told me she can't see stock anywhere so don't believe everything you read :)

I was checking this site as well but apparently it is not up to date with argos' real stock levels X)

Click the link where it says available stock and see that there is actually no stock in that particular Argos store you clicked on.

Yeah, it's a bit sketchy, but there is stock. For example, I clicked on Bodmin and there was no stock, but it did show stock in Newquay.

There probably is stock in some stores but they are located too far for me to collect, plus you can't just reserve it - you have to pay for it first because apparently this item is in "high demand" and they don't even keep stock in the stores. :(

To be honest I haven't even thought of looking in Asda or Sainsbury's even though I have these stores literally a few minutes walk from my house so thanks for that. I'm sure this information will help others like myself who didn't even think to look there.

Very sensible. If a hardware revision does ever appear then hopefully Nintendo will also sort out the data transfer cap when using high performance memory cards as exposed today by Digital Foundry. In that same article they also show that retail Switch games on cartridge media is the worst option of all when it comes to loading times.

Doing my normal routine and popping in different stores I could have bought at least 15 of these, stock is not hard to find.
