Been looking for a good way to get both Snipperclips and a pair of additional Joy-Cons, but haven't seen much talk about it on hukd, there are only cold threads for ShopTo at £85 and Amazon at £80, but no alternatives. Nintendo's UK store is selling it at £80 too.

The cheapest price for Joy-Con pair on its own (either colour) appears to be £70, and meanwhile Snipperclips has settled in with aggregate score 80 on Opencritic and 81 on Metacritic.

Snipperclips' digital price is £18, but it's seen some heat in threads like CDKeys taking it as low as £15.19. I would have bought it at that price too if I couldn't find a good bundle price, but I'd say this is pretty good and have ordered it myself before posting. Ordered at 16:30 and it was dispatched at 17:10.

Hope you guys are enjoying your new consoles as much as I am. Long live Multiplayer!

still horrifically expensive for peripherals. I think once the excitement fades (like it did with pokemon) Nintendo will have another failed console on their hands. they're still charging 200 odd for the wii u on their website for crying out loud...

The most powerful handheld you can get. The best RPG game ever on it already. The best racer ever made coming next month. Failed? I think not.
However, I will concede it's being milked for all it's worth at the moment. Everything is costing 150% of what it should be. Price you pay for early adoption I guess.
"Best Rpg EVER Best Racing game EVER"..... After that i just tuned OUT lol

Nice one :) I hope this gets the heat it deserves on the basis of the pricing for the individual items.

Do two sets of joycons for one switch device work for two player on the go? Or four player with one Joycon each?

Standard pricing compared to Wii controllers at launch and the current price of ps move controllers. Minus the price of the game it is £60 for two controllers. I don't think that is too bad for a brand new release. They will drop a bit, but demand will keep the price up, plus that Nintendo tax.

Pokemon Go had revenue over $1b and sun and moon sold fantastically well. Yes, the user base of Go has declined, but that is standard for the market and not specific just to Pokemon Go.

Both, I think. Depends what you're playing.

Smyths by me dropped wii u's down to £150 week before switch came out. They soon got rid. The display one you could play is even gone.

Rather wait 12 months to see how switch does and them to iron out faults. Have a good roster of games by then too.

I just bought one from smyths but they were reluctant in selling as according to staff they are not available till Friday.

Depends how you play the game..

I got the Console and Pro Controller from Tesco for £335.00 which is the console for £279.99 + £55.00 for a pro controller..

Then I got Zelda for £34.00 from Amazon using a code adn pre-ordering at the right time. I have MK8 preordered for £32.00 at Amazon and Lego City for £34.99 at Base.. Anything i cannot get at a reasonable price is what i wait for.

You're a cannier buyer than me! £280 + £48 for Zelda. Which I think for a new game (and what a game!) was probably just about worth it. By no means a bargain though. But development wise, Lego and MK8 are just ports. I've already played them on the WiiU, so £45 and £42 (Amazon) is pretty steep. Would have thought £25-£35 is about what they're worth.

According to BoE, inflation would put that at £39.83 in todays money for one controller and a game.
this is less than twice that for two controllers and a game so this is comparative at least.

I agree that it's still pricey and that excitement will die down. However the fact that it's a handheld that could be viewed as a 3ds successor is on their side. I'm not sure it will flop, but I don't think it will be particularly successful after the initial fanboys buy them out unless they reduce the price like they did the 3ds. Plus there is a lot of issues to be sorted out.

I don't think inflation is that high.

Gets released with one of the best games ever created, recieves unanimous praise from critics, shifts more units in the first weekend than any other Nintendo console in history resulting in a rise of share prices.

And people still saying it will fail?

Well give me a failed console any day if it means I get to play games like Zelda BOTW, Love it so much, forgotten what a truly great game was

Have to resist the temptation to wade in on the discussion, but just to add the official release date for these is the 10th, so I'm not surprised stores would be reluctant to sell them over the counter.

However for those looking for the free home delivery they're dispatching already and it'll get to you after then anyway. You can get speedier delivery for release day if you choose to pay a little more for it.

The console may fail or may not, but definitely guaranteed to get some of the best gaming experience, like the wii u did...the switch is off to belter with Zelda Breath of the Wild as a launch software. Yes people will say not enough good games at launch, but it was the same with the big boy consoles, ps4 and xb1...during that time the wii u churned out absolute belters of games after a slow start...

I suppose we have to wait and see what games can handle it like you say. But if you're playing two player a pro controller would prob be better. If four player at home, OK maybe. But four player on one switch console, the 6" screen would be shared between four users won't really work too well. Don't really see the point in buying another pair of these if a console already comes with a pair.

But it's not two controllers. It's basically two halves of one controller!!

...

1. 'Critics' cannot be trusted, too many are proven corrupt shills. Gamergate highlighted that. Share prices and week 1 sales are not evidence that the console will not fail.
2. It's a pile of poorly built garbage with countless issues hardware/software issues
3. Unless Nintendo fix these rather huge problems, it could fail, but never underestimate how ideologically blind consumers/fanboys can be.
4. Fanboyism is cringey, just stop.

What's your opinion on this video highlighting problems with the Switch?

Looks pretty bad to me.

As long as people are willing to shell out £75 for a controller, nintendo will get away with it. Ridiculous price

Its a smart move by nintendo releasing zelda on launch to get the hype/sales in. Now they can concentrate on releasing games like "nintendo dogs" or "nintendo cooking" or "michael owen soccer"

Have the same plan.
It's either a Switch for the kid's Christmas or a PS4 pro... and you can guess which console I'm pushing for more.
