After stating that they were “now the cheapest place in the United Kingdom to get consoles,” GameSeek has opened pre-orders for Nintendo Switch at an irresistible price point.

We won't know an exact release date or price until the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017, but the online retailer is asking for £198.50 with free shipping for the new home gaming system .

While they will charge your chosen payment method as soon as you pre-order, this is backed by a price guarantee meaning that even if the announced price is higher, the pre-order will be honoured and you won't be charged any more money.

“As part of our ongoing effort to make GameSeek the number one destination for all of your gaming needs, we are reducing the prices on consoles to be the cheapest in the UK,” GameSeek explained.

“You may already be aware that we have strived to be the cheapest place to purchase video games for years, and we have now slashed the prices down even further on consoles at GameSeek, offering you even more savings on Xbox One, PS4, 3DS and the upcoming Nintendo Switch.

“To help us celebrate our new initiative, we've opened pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch at just £198.50.”

Nintendo Switch will release worldwide in March 2017

There was a time I trusted GameSeek but they're getting progressively worse. Last time I ordered a game from GS they took a while to dispatch it.

HUKD should re-ban GS and now, permanently.

Agreed. Took me a month and 3-4 phone calls to get a refund on a game that failed to come 3 weeks after ordering. That's ridiculously bad service!

That reminds me a time I returned a game to GS and they took about 2 or 3 weeks to refund me. I had to be stubborn with them otherwise they'd keep on delaying forever (only did such once thankfully).

I don't know. GameSeek used to be great and very professional but it looks and feels like it's managed by monkeys nowadays.

You must know two lads who work for them then judging from the pics?

It's just an insane way to get yourself into the market. The customer service guy told me they supply big companies such as Tesco and that's why they struggle to be clear on stock numbers sometimes.

Living in a fantasy land inside their own heads, clearly. They make Game look professional :D

It's going to be interesting to see if they will be honouring this price now we know it's at least £270. If they do this is the bargain of the century

Hi HUKD Forum.
We can confirm the price has been honoured. This is the message sent to our consumers yesterday;

Thankyou for your Nintendo Switch Pre-Order.
I hope you are as excited as we are about the launch of this innovative new console.
The Nintendo Switch price has recently been revealed and it was much higher than we expected. £279.99

I wanted to confirm that your pre-order is safe and we will be honouring the pre-order price of £198.50.

Sincerely,
Stephen Staley
