Accessories pricing is ridiculous but this is the cheapest atm.

Fingers crossed they keep dropping to something more reasonable :(

Yeah I'm hoping the same, though knowing Nintendo stuff it could be wishful thinking lol. Cant remember nintendo charging 60 for this type of controller ever before

On a technicality, this is cheaper, well, cheaper than GAME's £64.99.

Just warning future deal posters. Anything Switch related will be voted cold big time if it's anywhere near the RRP. Nintendo is definitely not getting much love for their pricing after yesterday.

Shame someone can't see both a price they disagree with and a price that is competitive as it stands vs other retailers.

Same thing happened with the X1 Pro Controller.

Was looking around in GAMEs website and noticed there will also be a wired controller. It's a lot cheaper than the pro. Is there really a big difference between the two beside from the price and one being wired? From GAMEs website it will cost £27.99 so that is a massive difference in the price between the two.

That's the Hori one. It looks mighty impressive but I'll try first the Switch Tablet and if it feels comfy I'll stick to it, if not then I'll order the Hori.

Sunday can't come any sooner!

Oh I see. Quite a nice price for something handy. Going to need one of those controllers but this £60 is too much. lol. Will need to try out the joy con first to see if it's comfy too but I really see myself going for one of those when playing at home

That's not exactly a hot deal though is it... If we just keep posting things just because it's slightly cheaper all the time then this just turns into a price runner website. If this was £45 then maybe yeah put it on here. But a couple of pounds when it's already overpriced in the first place is not going to be hot. It's taken awhile for me to understand that, but this site is to highlight deals not a running price comparison site for fully priced things.

Jason from Kotaku seems to think it's more comfortable than it looks. Will look forward to hearing if you agree with him

Wasn't a fan of the Wiimote/Nunchuk but since it's wireless and no AA batteries it could be better.

Tbh after the wii I won't be getting this straight away
Looks to gimmicky the odd game you will like but not enough to warrant the purchase
Will wait see what games get released as without good 3rd party content this could end up going the same way the wii u went

this sh*t has to stop!!! a pad should never cost so much, and the whole 'pro' labelling is laughable. I have an elite xbone controller bought by the Mrs, and yes I love it, but would I say you should spend £100 for the privilege, absolutely not.

Not sure why everyone is crying about the prices. Consoles are always expensive when first launched including accessories and games. This is usually to cover some costs if it's a big flob and with it being Nintendo well that's possible.

I'd be more worried about the fact the games are looking to be about £60-80 each. There isn't much pro looking about the controller except the fact it looks better than the slide on one but when Xbox and ps4 standard controllers were new they were about £59. They are still selling many years later at around £45 (RRP £54.99 usually displayed or more if you want a colour choice!!) unless you wait for an offer to appear and grab a bargain at £35 but no offers are going to be on when a product hasn't even launched yet, thats not usually how it works unless you're investing in a start up company.

Wonder how long it will be till third party hong kong ones start appearing on ebay like the wii u ones are tho in fairness work well.

And playing Xenooblade on Wii in this fashion with a Wiimote and Nunchuck, was sublime. You can just relax and put each arm in any position you want... it's almost like playing the game with mind control.

That said... £60 for a controller is just mental... Sure, it has all the HD rumbles and what not perhaps justifying the price (perhaps), but how they plan to sell this thing to anyone other than the hardest-core Nintendo fan, I have no idea. Given the pricing and current game line up, it's an even harder sell than the Wii U!!! That's some achievement.

I think the reason the Switch controller is more expensive, than expected, is because of the probable extra tech in it such as gyroscope, accelerometer, IR pointer etc. to have the same features as the Joy Con controllers. Wii U Pro controller didn't have any of those features and so was more reasonably priced.
Overall, the Switch & its accessories all does seem overpriced atm but it's early days and I'm sure some retailers will put together some attractive deals.

Have you considered the possibility that if "everyone" is unhappy about something then maybe, just maybe, they have a fair point?

Or is "everyone" supposed to remain silent in order to not upset the small handful of overly defensive Nintendo fanboys who seem to want this site to be their 'safe space' where no criticism of their precious Nintendo is permitted?

Cold, only Microsoft and Sony can charge stupid money for a controller. Should be £5 and include 2 games

Na it was fine, people just bought into the £199.99 rumours too much, so stupidly that's what they had their hearts set on. Personally I anticipated £299.99 so for me I'm happy because its cheaper than I expected. Nintendo like to make a decent profit from hardware and Regardless of what people say about the price it will sell. No doubt the people who are moaning about the price will just have to buy it anyway if they want it. Because Nintendo very rarely drop the price of their consoles, look at the Wii U.

The Wii U Pro controller was / is only £40. I think I'll hold out before buying this.

Switch £280
Zelda £60
Pro controller £60
Total's £400 !!

Zelda won't be £60 absolutely no way can they justify selling it for that price unless you go digital.

i think i'll wait til they release a limited edition switch later in the year, seems like the new nintendo president doesnt know how much games and accessories should be sold for nor is the lineup impressive. street fighter 2 on the switch...great and all, but they dont expect me to fork out 60 quid for it do they? lol

He probably got a bit overly frustrated and annoyed at some Nintendo hating XB/PS fanboy on one of the Switch deals. I just hope HUKD are banning the nutty XB/PS fanboys that are already besieging every Switch deal thread. Remember when we had over a year of the "Wii U is dead and all the nonsense that entailed". Well this is the new "XB/PS fanboy, the Switch is crap phase". Could go on for sometime!
