What a good find. I really want one of these before xmas and i'm trying to hold out because you know a lot of people will be competing against each other to sell their bundles. Maybe this will be the start we need.

Heat, of course, added :-) xx

...but if its a top selling item they are not going to reduce it are they.
I still think people are better off going for a £179.99 bundle with a free game like Mario Kart.

If they have any in stock - IT'S A GREAT PRICE - but makes you wonder if it's just to get people instore & on the net

I'm going to reserve judgement as the last time a similar deal came up my local store had no stock even though empty boxes were on the shop floor. Was out of stock online too.

Loads of stock at the moment, espicially at my store, I would get it now instead of waiting until November when it will be sold out.

Great price! (heat and rep added)

Hot deal. Heat + Repped!

I’d suggest buying now for Christmas for those interested. Retailers are battling against each other to secure stock from Nintendo as with many products, sales volume now relates to stock allocated at peak times. Many retailers are selling these with tiny margins to do just this. I'd personally expect to see deals such as free game or £20 off typical price to disappear around Christmas! But.. I may be wrong

Agreed. Good price for the console itself but the bundles are better value.

Precisely what I was going to say. I simply don't get it. Personally it only generated an extremely mild 'oh' out of Wii Sports.

I absolutely love the diverse range of titles on the DS and inspired use of controls. But when it comes to the Wii even apparent 'A' class title such as Mario Kart or Smash Brothers feel unresponsive, light and fluffy.

The only game of any interest due to the control system is probably Metroid, which neither my 8 or 20 year old Wii owning brothers have bought.

I've been playing my Snes for over 15 years and the DS gets picked up almost every day, but the Cube and Wii are frankly ****.

I would love to do a psychological study of the people who like and dislike the Wii, beyond the generalised opinion that people simply mock the processing power, the genre of games available, the incredible marketing of the machine that inspired the purchase etc.

Don't diss the Cube. Some really great games came out for it. Try Star Wars Rogue Squadron Death Star trench level for graphics as good as the film. The Wii has some good games via the virtual console...

The original xbox is more powerful than the wii so its amazing the wii can still sell for these high prices even with its new controller. However if people are prepared to pay it then its justified. All I know is my favourite type of game, first person shooters are pretty hopeless on it and the only game I want for it is Mario Galaxy and I ain't buying a console just for that. I'm happy with my DS, N64 and Cube for now.

Yeah I love the idea of the Wii and motion control, but just cant bring myself to pay so much for such dated graphics. That said, its great fun. Maybe im too hung up on graphics, but I wish Nintendo had made the machine higher powered, maybe ill wait for the Wii 2...

10% of £180 is £18 so it would have cost £162 am I right? A great price for the console and a game!

I regret seeing this thread, will probaly end up buyng one now. Had one before but sold it as I never really used it but now theres some more games out I wouldn't mind one again.

This is a fantastic price, however I have just had a thought on this one, could you not use PC World price 110% price match and end up getting for £143.99...now that would be a bloody brilliant bargain if it worked!!! :)

How did you calculate £143???

Pcworld Price = £179.99
Woolworths price = £159.99

PC world with 110% price difference = £157.99
#32
PC World PRICE MATCH, so you'd get it for the Woolworths price, then you'd also get another 10% PC World's original price of £180 (i think/i'm sure) or at worst that 10% is off the 'new' price i.e the price match of Woolworths price.

Therefore 10% off £179.99 (PC World's price) is just under £18, meaning console for just under £142! :)

Or, 10% off £159.99 (Woolworths price) is just under £16, meaning console for just under £144! :)

Hope that makes sense :-D lol!

Apologies if I have misinterpreted, it's just that I have done price match a few times through my local store and they have always given me an extra 10% off...maybe I'm just fortunate and the local staff don't understand the policyt properly either!!!!

The price match is is "110% of the difference" so you get an extra 10% on the difference between the 2 prices, not 10% on the highest price.

Pcworld Price = £179.99
Woolworths price = £159.99

Difference in price = £20
110% of Difference = £22

PC world with 110% price difference = £179.99 - £22 = £157.99

If you managed to get PC world to give to 10% of the largest price before, then well done.

I have used the 110% difference pricematch a few time recently, and the store always try to get out of the extra 10% difference until I always point out the very large banner hanging above the customer service desk, which the operators always pretend they knew nothing about!

The discount is not off the bundle, but off each item! So it's actually 10% of £215(£180+£35). My receipt says £21.50 discount! Thus, final price: £157.50!
#37
Decisions, Decisions, do I get it or wait for another offer with a game.
#38
i was gonna get this but i decided 2 go 4 the bundle at dixons (Wii, Mario Kart and charger station )
