One of my mates just called the store at the Glasgow Fort and they checked stock levels for local stores and the Silverburn store is now out of stock.

Sorry to bring bad news.

Silverburn is the new shopping mall in Pollok, Glasgow (previously called the Pollok Centre) Argos just opened last Saturday.. not a bad place..

I should have stated that it was not available online, if you live local to Silverburn or within 20 mins of anywhere in Glasgow. You would have been able to get to Silverburn.

Here's a link to it's website and directions, should anymore become available.

Why are the supply of Wii's still very low? You would have thought with the whole year to ramp up production, that they would be able to meet demand by now.

Clever marketing strategy from the bods at nintendo thats all  Keep just enough on the shelves to make people think they need to grab one before they sell out again. Seems to be working for them too.

Not at all - the Wii is the fastest selling console every and has sold over 10 million consoles already in less than a year (over 1 million in the UK). Demand has been constantly high and Nintendo just cannot catch up despite making 1 million Wiis a month! You cannot just ramp up production that quickly and probably would not want to as when demand went down you would have all this extra useless infrastructure...

It's the usual Xmas shenanigans by the manufacturers. They will have literally warehouse loads sitting somewhere, but none in the shops. Word goes out that there are none left and people who have promised them to their kids panic.
Then people who weren't going to buy one hear that they are rare and so they think getting one for their kids would be really cool, because other kids won't have one and their kids will.
Then a couple of weeks before Xmas the manufacturers suddenly release their entire warehouse load of stock and the whole lot sells out at full price! Retailers don't need to give any discounts as incentives to buy.
Everyone is happy, and the manufacturers are incredibly rich.
Works every time (unless it's the PS3!)

Official Nintendo answer is that UK was getting more than its allocation during the year. Now the Wii has taken off with mainland Europe our allocation has been cut so there is a lot less about.

I'll go with my own cynical thoughts that they are just playing about with us.

Wii are all Wii mad. Nintendo is now using Wii amounts of Wii's to tease the public. I am sure feebay are going to be loving it over Xmas time as the Wii is on the list of the most sought after consoles Hehehehehe

Have a Wii smile will you!

Thank god you can't vote my Wii try Cold :P

Nintendo are manufacturng 1.8m consoles a month from august onwards increased production by 50%

apparently shipped 13.4m (sept figures) to stores...probably sold more than that now.

probably shipped over 15m by now...considering its november practically.

no marketing gimmick....just probably was way underestimate of demand or stores stockpiling.

They only decided to increase production in march...then its taken them 4-6 months for getting machinery, factories and extra staff trained up.

dont forget demand is great around the world not just here.

I got a modded Wii that is two months old had about 10 hours usage. open to best offers.

This isn't the forum for selling. As you are looking for best offers, probably best you try selling on a well known auction site.
