Finally, I've been looking everywhere (sort of) for a good deal on the classic controller for the Wii, and have found one.

The closest match is PC World at £12.99. Apparently they do a price match thingy so you can go through the hassle and phone them up (cost money) and tell them about hmv, then they might give you million n one reasons why their price matching offer is not applicable for tis particular match...ye sure!
Free Delivery.

P.S has anyone tried successfully price matching in store saves you phone bill, or is that not possible.

Go into a HMV store and ask for the HMV student card. You'll need your uni ID card and the rest is simple. Once you've got the leaflet with the card in it, register an account on their site and link your card to your account and for a year you'll get an automatic 10% off. Have fun.

On the topic of the deal, it's a pretty good deal. I got two for £20 last time from ChoicesUK. I don't like the fact you have to have a Wii Remote to use these as the GameCube controllers are much better.

I have managed to get price match in pcworld without the phone call but i work for DSG (Currys, part of same group) and know for a fact that the stores don,t require the phone call but it does make it easier for you. the option is on their system (eclipse) to price match the stores that they price match but i guess it depends how much you want to haggle. Bottom line is some sales assistants will do it, some wont without call but taking in a print out of their price promie to show the stores they match helps, but also note it advises you to call them ;-)

It's certainly easier going the phone call route as they ensure that you get the product without haggling with a sales assistant/manager/cashier.

I am actually visiting my local Trading Standards tomorrow on the whole issue coz i ve just rcvd a mail from pcworld cust srvcs admitting that they do price match with amazon and the ceo still said no to me!

Its a shame nintendo cant make a decent controller. Otherwise I would probably buy another.

Never had any problem with PC World Price Matching. Always just went to a store detailed the pricematch and all is good. So far I've done it 3 times..

Samsung SM2032BW 20" tft pricemath to comet
Canon IP4500 Pricematch with Amazon

And just a few weeks back a set of Creative T20 speakers again with amazon.

The Sales guy did me a favour with this one as they were £44 on amazon and listed at pc world as an online price of £49 or in store £69 of course I wanted 10% of the differnce of £69 and £44. Gets to the store and they were £49 in store too :( but on the computer it still showed £69 and he was happy not to correct this giving a better discount.

And I aint an employee of DSG

Buy a gamecube controller, the classic controller is ****, where as the N64/Gamecube/Wii controllers are some of the best ever designed.

lol. None of Nintendo's controllers are good. The best one theyve made is probably the wii mote. but that still has its problems.

Buy a gamecube controller, it's a much better investment!

As stated by others the GC controller is too short like a metre or something which is problematic, i like to move around when i play too.
