Just incase anyone forgot and is struggling to find a wii, you can buy them easily from Amazon.de at todays exchange rate (1 EUR = 0.70) equates to £173.710 GBP.

Bought one myself from amazon.de last year and the process is straight forward enough mimicking a purchase from amazon.uk, the only difference with the console is the plug which can be sorted with either a converter or a UK adaptor from eBay for approx £10. Instructions and console set-up are all in English, delivery takes approx 5-7 days.

If sold out on amazon.de, check also amazon.fr:

I ordered this one, and the idiots from DHL didn't card my house. Declared me as "No longer trading" and returned my Wii to Germany.

Amazon.de are giving me an automatic refund.
Tempted to reorder but still fuming at useless DHL.

Differences between German Wii and English Wii:
* Need a continental plug adapter as it has no UK plug fitting. (A trip down the shops.)
* Instructions to Wii Sports game were in German. (This is not a problem as the game is self explanatory)

Great things about ordering your Wii from Germany:

* The Wii manual itself is in many European languages. (Obviously English is one.)
* The Wii console interface can be set to any language you like. (Default is English)
* It actually works out cheaper to order from Germany!
* Learn some German by reading the Wii Box

Good luck and have fun with the Wii.

I assume that the above is true for Wii's sourced from France. It may be a little easier for people to use amazon.fr for the above, since I believe more people are likely to know some French than German (certainly most of the people I have spoken to do).

It's pretty straightforward though, the buttons are in exactly the same place on every site. I just opened up the UK site to make sure I was definitely clicking the right thing on the German site :p

cant you just buy a uk nintendo power cord instead of a euro plu adapter?

Google is telling me that at thte current exchange rate its:
174,30 GBP

If ordering by credit/debit card wont there be a foreign trasaction charge too. Unless you have an account at Nationwide that offers this free.

Oh yes, because it comes from Germany it has a 2 year warranty as standard, not the usual 'rip-off Britain' one

Hi could someone tell me, if i brought a wii from germany with the 2 year warranty and in that period it developed a fault, would i have to return it to germany or could i return it to nintendo uk or any shop what sells a wii

many thanks

I believe that's the same with LloydsTSB. My CC never appears to pick up commission charges yet my Halifax one does.

In addition, you always seem to get a better rate of Interest with the Lloyds one.

A word of warning though.

Currency is usually based on what has been traded both ways (so for instance, if someone buys at 1.50 to the £ and sells at 1.30 to the £ then the average is 1.40. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but recently, I've been lucky to get 1.34 to the £.

This makes the Wii work out at £185+

Anyways, have voted hot. I'm in France a lot at the moment and Wii's are in plentiful supply here - in fact just about every shop seems to sell them (and you can even buy them at the airport). Everywhere is €249

yeah cause nintendo restrict supply in order to get ppl to panic buy, ppl hoarde them to flog on egay, companies horde to inflate prices, no wonder we are called rip off britain, and the stupid thing is people will pay stupidly high prices.
we only rip off britain because the consumer is so gullible and puts up with it.
so really its us the people that create rip off britain

ordered mine on monday and it's due for delivery Nov 5th! Thanks to Wiipreorder.co.uk and all the very helpful people on HUKD:santa:

apart from the availability, I personally don't think this is a hot deal.

The price is only marginally cheaper than the UK, but that can disappear if you get charged CC commision on the payment. The warranty is great, apart from the fact you would have to return it to Germany, so will also have to pay additional shipping charges.

Voted Cold.

Well Supply is short....Demand in high.... Considering that....Price is HOT for UK delivery. As long as supply remains short...and the price in the uk for a similar package is £220 - £240 from most high st stores which are in stock
#28
everywhere I looked in london had Wii in stock when I was out shopping last week from Virgin to Woolworths
#29
ps can u order from amazon.fr?
#30
Won't the French ones be in Secam rather than Pal?
#31
i dont think so, as by all rights they are english ones apart from the plug they even boot up in english by default
#32
Can anybody help?
I bought my Wii off German Amazon, last week, arrived earlier in the week. I have read it has a 2 year warranty on here.
Do I need to register it in someway to get the warranty? I can't find any info in the box.

jujst keep your reciept and if any probs send back to germany, as nintendo uk wont have anything to do with it knowing them

or just found this
With proof of purchase, Nintendo have to honour the warranty. You can go on the Nintendo website and register your Wii, if you do this they give you an extra 90 day warranty on top of the 1 year one that the console comes with!!
#34
Well mine has arrived from Amazon, Germany by DHL. Took 6 days, and once all of the chores have been done, I'll set up and no doubt waste the day away.

Touch wood - so far it has been dead easy and minimal hassle.
#35
Where are you guys getting UK power supplies from?
#36
you dont need uk power supplies just change the plug, the power pack that comes with the wii is world wide i think like most laptops

1. Click the link above.
2. Click the button "In den Einkaufswagen" (add to basket)
3. On the next page, click on the button "Zur kasse gehen" (proceed to checkout)
4. On the next page, log-in with the same log-in/password from amazon.co.uk (select "Ich bin bereits Kunde und mein Passwort ist:" and click on "Weiter")
5. From the address book, select your address by clicking on "An diese Adresse versenden" (send to this address)
6. On the next page, leave everything as it is (the credit/debit card information from your last purchase should be selected) and click on "Weiter"
7. Last page: you don't need to change anything here, just review the order and click on "Bestellung abschicken" (confirm order). There is only 1 delivery method available on this page, so you don't need to change anything. Delivery cost is 6 EUR for most EU countries, including the UK.
