For anyone luck enough to be living near an Argos Clearance bargains store, they currently have Nintendo Wii's in stock for £89.99.

Argos Clearance Bargains stores are as follows:
Stanley, Co Durham

The Stanley store had a big pile of Wii's, at least 50 on the shop floor. Hope this helps somebody.

Owned and operated by Argos, they get all of the clearance stock that is no longer in the catalogues, and also any large overstocks from Argos stores.

£109.99 refurbished online

Thanks dvdbargainhunter, did you get one ? does it come with any games ? is it a refurb ?

sorry for all the questions, as haq said they are £109.99 online plus £2.99 delivery(argos ebay store) and that includes the Wii sports.
I am tempted to go and have a look at the Walsall outlet if it includes some games of some sort.

Your opinion, same as mine. Although it's irrelevant, is this a hot deal or not? For a Wii it is, so voted hot.

Yeah, worth a drive down, they had plenty of Wii's and remotes at really good prices, the electricals are quite cheap too. Don't take the kids, there are too many cheap toys there!

Had nightmares with argos ebay outlet. Sell unrefurbished, untested, faulty items. After over a month I had to get my money back off Ebay, just keep in mind this is not an argos store you are dealing with, dont expect and customer support or service if you have a problem.

I've been to walsall last thursday - they have not got it in stock!

They had the black for £129.99!

Make sure you pay by credit card if they have awful customer service, then your credit company is equally liable

Is that the South African version? :?

Hot price - need to pop up to have a look around one of these stores as their eBay outlet is very good.

Amazing deal, thanks OP, just sitting down now in front of my new white Wii bought from the Corby outlet. It's a brand new Wii with the Sports Resort game included. I had to hunt around in the store for a while and eventually found one on the very top shelf behind the electrical counter. I asked how many they had left and as of 11.52 on Saturday they had 12 left in stock! Get in there quick

ever hear of the word 'subjective' or 'fanboy'?

A 'proper' games console that everyone can play round. Not going to beat the single play/graphics/sound etc of the hard core consoles but it was never made for that.
Good find.

not a fan boy but dont waste your money! cause eye bleed when on HD tv!

Its new stock, not refurb, comes with Wii Sports, white only.

I've waited this long as i always thought the graphics do indeed look terrible in a big hd tv so I think I'm going to hang on for this instead:

So get a decent component cable and change the settings. Then no 'cause for eye bleed'....

everyone to their own
ive got all 3 of the latest gen consoles

overall i think the wii is pretty good (not the best graphics)
buy is great once the homebrew channel is installed
but i love the retro snes games like super mario world, mario kart and super ghouls and ghosts

Been a couple of times to Walsall. I'd say it's not worth the journey just for a mooch unless you're going that way anyway. The store is full of stuff they couldn't sell from the catalogue - never found anything there worth buying!

There are a lot of electricals, but mostly really old stock - this Wii deal would seem to be an exception, but sounds like Walsall don't have any in any case. Also lots of toys but mostly it's the stuff you can't work out why anyone made in the first place. There's also plenty of furniture but it's shoddy.

In my experience, anything I'd consider buying wasn't cheap enough to warrant it, or if it was for a gift and the price was right the packaging was too damaged.

Probably one of those hit and miss places that if you're in the area and you've got a spare half an hour it might be worth looking for that diamond in the rough, but mostly it's just full of tat.

There's not really much difference, it can still only do 480P with component, still jaggy and muddy on an hd screen.

you install them through wad manager in the homebrew channel
make sure you use pal ones for a pal machine
as they seem to work more ofter
if its a snes game you will either need a classic controller or a gamecube controller
if you have preloader installed (to see if you have hold the reset button while powering up from off)
enable multiregion channels to make ntsc wads work, although some still dont
some work through the channels and some through homebrew channel
also try and get homebrew browser as this installs the homebrew straight to the card through the wii
heres some here
http://wehackwii.pbworks.com/Channels
and on the right theres loads
i used the vc wads (virtual channel)
from both snes and mega drive (genesis is the ntsc mega drive)
