From tomorrow (28th August) Sainsbury's will drop the price of their Wii to £149.97. If you use the attached voucher code (C2JN-T3LU-8K3L) it knocks a further £10 off the price. They are also doing free delivery on gaming products at the moment.

Get yourself the incredibly popular Nintendo Wii console with its motion-controlled gaming controls. When holding the Wii Remote you simply mimic the action you want your player to act out, and the device accurately reads your movement and translates it onto the screen. No more button mashing to move a character - actually move! The Nintendo Wii is one of the few gaming consoles that bridges age groups and is fun for everyone.

This console comes with Wii Sports included, giving you five games for free: bowling, boxing, baseball, tennis and golf. For games where a two-handed approach is required, the Nintendo Wii nunchuck lets you hold two motion-controlled devices. You'll find yourself punching and swinging, ducking and weaving with Wii Boxing!

It's compatible with a wide range of games, including sports games and the newer exercise-based games in Wii Fit. The console is also backwards compatible with GameCube games. Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi to open up a world of opponents and players.

An online Wii Channel lets you access news, weather, photos, message boards and more.

The package includes one Wii console, one Wii remote, one Nunchuck Wii remote attachment, one Sensor Bar, power adapters and two AA batteries for the Wii remote. It also includes a SCART cable to connect to your TV. Separately purchasable cables let you use composite, component, S-video or VGA outputs.

A broadband connection is required for the internet functions and online play.

When I posted the other Sainsburys "heads up" (the garden furniture set) they dropped the price at about 9am if I recall (not that I ever see 9am these days); so keep hitting that F5 key from 8am I guess. Worth it. The garden set did sell out pretty quick. I have no idea what stock levels are and "no" (before anyone asks again) I do not work for Sainsburys (HMV/Play/Zavvi/Tesco etc etc) :)

Best price I've seen so far!

We have a PS3 at the mo plugged into our main telly downstairs. Is it possible to have 2 consoles (i.e: a PS3 and a Wii) plugged into the same main telly etc at once? :?

Don't forget Sainsbury's Quidco... 2% for Technology (= £137.17) or 4% for Toys & Games (= £134.37) depending on which the Wii would come under. Please share if anyone finds out what it tracks at.

Free delivery service .. Ordered 03:20 hrs Friday 28th August .. arrived 12:15 hrs 3rd September via HDNL. :w00t:

No outer packing except flimsy poly bag .. so nicely crushed edges all round the box. :x

We have the PS3 and the Wii plugged into the same TV. The PS3 is scart leaded into the back and if we had another scart socket the Wii would be too but we have used them all so the Wii is plugged into the side using the coloured cables that comes with it.

Ya think these will keep coming down for Christmas?

It depends which inputs your TV has...
Also will differ on the cable used for the console (SCART, component, HDMI, etc)

The offer is live now - good deal!

I hope it does drop down that low, but bear in mind Nintendo aren't the best price cutters in the market. The DS got hardly any price cuts during its life, with the main ones coming with the 'imminent upgrades' (DS Lite, DSi, etc). I'm guessing that this sort of deal is based on what the seller can absorb into their profit margins rather than a drop in RRP.

While there are rumours that Microsoft might be making yet another price cut to make sure the PS3 slim has trouble selling, I don't think Nintendo will be following suit.

There is also a very good chance that the good prices, if they appear at the right time, will be very popular and likely out of stock very quickly.

is there a way to put in staff discount?
