I know this is one of those store specific (maybe) deals but you never know. At least you can check your local to see if they have any.

Check your nearest Sainsbury store to see if they have any of these cards in stock for £5 also

Don't think you can use these anymore since they shut down the Wii/DS/DSi online services

The Shops are still open since Nintendo ran them on their own. The lost features include those provided by GameSpy such as exchanging message, weather app etc.

Available in sainsbury for 4.99 also and you can still use them.

I bought super metroid, super mario world, a link to the past and super mario rpg couple of days ago via the Wii channel on the Wii U.

Then paid the cheaper fee of £1.49 each to get the Wii U version of super metroid and a link to the past, where you can play them on the Wii U gamepad.

So worked out to be cheaper this way because on eBay guys are selling 2000 points for around £10 and £7 for 1000 points on the Wii Shop channel.

Can these be used for 3DS purchases?

These can be used on:

- The Wii Shopping Channel on the Nintendo Wii to purchase software such as Virtual Console and Wiiware titles. You can also do this on the Wii U when booting up Wii mode.

- The DSi Shop on the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL to purchase DSiWare titles. There is no option to do this on the Nintendo 3DS/2DS, but you can transfer DSiWare purchases from a Nintendo DSi/DSi XL to a Nintendo 3DS/2DS with the system transfer tool allowing you to download the transferred DSiWare off the 3DS eShop whenever you feel the need.

Basically whatever virtual console games are available in the Wii U's eshop can be bought for the cheaper fee of £1 for NES games and £1.49 for SNES games if you were to buy them on the Wii shop channel first using the Nintendo points.

Not all the games on the virtual console games Wii's shop channel are available yet in the virtual console of the Wii U's eshop.

There was three of these in my nearest branch of sainsbury and I bought two of them last week. Might go and buy the last one and buy ocarina of time and another top n64 game for 1000 points each since I'm going to have my Wii U for some time and then once they start getting n64 game in the virtual console of the Wii U's eshop, will upgrade to play on the gamepad.

They don't work on wii U eshop or 3ds e shop

This is awesome, nice cheap way to get them on both systems :)

Insanity - why have they two shops which take different currencies?

Especially as coins earned from buying Wii U games can only be converted to points to use on a Wii and not Wii U shop?

Tremendous deal - This works out at 1p for 4 points

Wow, I think you misread his post. From what I read, he was simply observing that it's a bit crazy they have separate shops for the different generations, I guess you thought he was disputing your comments altogether. Also possibly worth noting that although you can link DS/Wii to the same Nintendo account, if you put points on one device, they cannot be used in the other.

Dammit :(

If I can get one of these I will probably go for it.

The only Dsiware I like is Commando : Steel Disaster and Shantae (Total Cost 2000 points).

(Got them both on my 3DS XL but I would prefer them on my Dsi XL).

I wasn't having a go at your info - I was merely pointing out the insanity of the Nintendo brain fart that came up with this ...

Bought the last 2000 points card from my local sainsburys today. Going to buy ocarina of time. Thinking what else to buy with the 700 points left over from the other day and the remaining 1000 points from today...so OOT will cost me £2.50, not bad and maybe £2 for the upgraded version to be able to play on the Wii U gamepad hopefully when they release N64 games in the Wii U eshop...my nearest asda didn't have hardly anything Wii/Wii U related apart from a MK8 display case and a couple of just dance Wii games...
