Why do you need 3 wii consoles?

So you can slap them on ebay perhaps?
#6
Please note they are selling a £350 5 game bundle, and not the console on it's lonesome
#7
Glasgow Sauchiehall Street also have them in stock, although its a bundle deal - £350+

what's the deal with this bloody WII?

last year was understandAble because it was a NEW release... but now, why don't the make enough of them to avoid those ebays speculators?

I think its because no-one expected the wii to be so amazingly successful.

They should limit them to one per person as Argos does

There's no doubting it's overhyped. Software sales for the wii compared with 360/PS3 back this up. People buy a wii and wii sports is the only game they'll ever own.
#13
MIDDLESBROUGH virgin also has some in, or atleast they did an hour ago!

Seems to me like virgin in general must be getting some in today.

I can't understand why people are wasting £350 on a WII when you have been able to buy a 60GB PS3 + 3 games for £310 in the past which is far more advanced and doubles up as a blu-ray player. I guess they are excellent for the kids but the technology is'nt brilliant.

Why are you increasing the hype by buying three and reducing stock to other good members of the public. This is one of the biggest reasons why there are none in stock. Initially there may have been a sock shortage to create hype, or perhaps it was genuine. But now when many shops are recieving stock they are being bought up and re-sold by people. I feel sorry for genuine customers looking for a sub £200 price for the console. / End of rant - sorry!

Thanks for the stock alert, but I'm not near there :(, I think I'll just stick with my 360 until next year.

If that were true it wouldn't be the best selling console.

Its horses for courses I think. I paid £179 for a wii back in April and the kids love it. They play again each other, their friends, me, the wife, grandparents etc. If I want to play a 'proper' game I go to my PC. But I can't deny that the wii is great fun. It can do things that other consoles & PCs can't.

If you had one you wouldn't ask why. I bought one on launch day and it's been played every week since. Wii Sports is worthe the price of the console (Ebay excepted) on it's own, Mario Galaxy is the most playable game every made.

My PS3 has been switched on about 3 times in the last month, two of them to play Blurays. There's just nothing to buy that I cant get on 360 that's worth having.

My 360 went back to MS for six weeks and I hardly noticed. I will admit that this Xmas there are some great games for it and it's getting a lot of use, finally.

not a fan boy rant..

but people are buying them because they want them. If they wanted a brilliant piece of technology they would buy an AMD FX processor and stare at it. But that won't be much fun mind..

hi

i work at a different virgin store and i know that virgin as a chain get deliveries for wii consoles on the friday virtually every week. as far as i know, almost every virgin (or zavvi!) store get them, and i happen to know meadowhall ironically are one of the stores that get the most in the chain. as i tell people who visit where i work, find out when the store that you want to get one from opens, and then ring half an hour in advance to try and ask them on the phone to reserve one for you. hope thats helpful!

I am in Sheffield and my mate was wanting a Wii called Virgin Store at 12.15am and told wii's in stock but would not hold - she didn't finish work til 5pm so she didn't get one.

I was lucky and got mine in October from Argos as wanted it 'in hand' but the night before bought on Amazon (which on receipt of the Argos one I cancelled...) and Tesco cancelled a fantastic Wii Bundle at £199 inc Ratatouille and Castaway (Sims) on an order placed in Sept when Wii's were in stock but was 26th Oct when Sims released by which time they had sold my Wii elsewhere (disgusting customer service there)

People want the Wii because its fun simple as that i have a 360 as well and we play the WII games more than it, its good fun, do i need to say FUN again ? if people pay more than the asking price well thats up to them, Xbox 360 games sell more than the Wii maybe they do but i would put that down to playability maybe the wii games are more playable than the 360 counter part, oh and to finish my little rant off wii sports is FUN. Hope everyone gets one in time for christmas and make sure you order rayman ravin rabbids with it its FUN. !!

Possibly because the PS3 is ****: playing games isnt about graphics if you think it is go buy a good pc better still buy a wii then you might just start to understand what gameplay and fun are.

I don't care for "technology", by which people actually mean "high-def graphics", because the Wii has fantastic technology in its wireless controllers for a start :)

The Wii is a party machine. It's so much fun and everyone I know always wants to play on it for a laugh. It is more appealing across a broad spectrum of people all ages because it is so easy to pick up and enjoy.

PS3 is also darn good as is the XB360, but they are more for the hardcore gamer. You also require an HDTV to really benefit from them (and lots still have CRT), but the Wii is fine on anything. Nintendo has tapped in to the casual gamer market so well in the last few years (starting with the DS) and a lot of people (like me!) have once again rekindled a bit of a youth in the new way to play games with other adults.

Plus, kids love to swing things around, so the Wii is ideal :D

ps3 doesnt have any good games yet........

resistance and ratchet and clank are the only semi decent games......... and when you see the PS2 still outselling the PS3 a year into its lifecycle says alot about it!

ps3 is just simply NOT worth the money still, its a games console first and foremost, without the software to support it its worthless.

and in the graphics over gameplay issue........... go buy asassins creed........looks gorgeous......no fun, boring gameplay doing the same **** over and over ......... whereas i'd take mario galaxy, zelda:TP, metroid prime 3 over them all day
