probably because they wont be delivered in time for christmas :santa:.

I reckon ebay has got to be the place to buy wiis at the moment. Search for ones local to you that allow collection and you'll easy get one for approx £160. Make sure you get one with a receipt and you can check out the goods before you hand over the cash.

Cheapskate- I reckon most ebayers will have made enough money through Nov and early December to take a hit of a few £20 quids!

Want guaranteed delivery by 1pm Monday, December 24?
Order it in the next 8 hours and 14 minutes, and choose Express delivery at checkout.

:P

Everywheres got wii's or at least they have in Yarmouth.

Where I work we've had them 2 days and not sold them all.
#11
Thanks, ordered!

I've given up on the Wii. It seems the 'get one now, before it's too late!!' hype overwhelmed me and i overlooked how few decent games there are for the system.

It's clearly going to be great for the kids this xmas but i see little value for the adults among us who want deep games full of longevity.
#13
the Daily Record yesterday states that wii product up 40%.and there will be plenty come xmas

You'll be lucky most courier companies "take it easy" on the 24th and finish early so some guarenteed delivery ones may be sat in a depot over christmas, your best shot would be to try and catch it while in the depot. As for fleeching Ebayers most with common sense will get you to sign a form saying you collected it for that sum of money.

... Or, from the winning bidder's perspective:

"A+++ seller thank you you have made my kids christmas"

It's not like the eBay sellers are buying and selling water and food that's in short supply. Remember, these are luxury goods! Open market I say.
#16
profit is one thing but selling something at double the price when parents are gonna be under so much pressure to buy it is wrong. try telling your kid they can't have one even though all their friends do.

i wanted a book recently. retail price was about £3. cheapest to buy 2nd hand is about £30 all the way up to £200+. same with rare games. amazon sellers and ebay sell them at ridiculous prices. profit making is normal business, profiteering is the act of scum.

btw: N20Y1D obviously wasn't serious.

Nope, express delivery option now showing "get it guaranteed by 1pm on Thursday, December 27" looks like its too late for Chrimbo
#19
showing as still available pre Christmas at the moment - Bit strange though, as the 23rd is a Sunday
"Want guaranteed delivery, December 23? Order it in the next 23 hours and 1 minute, and choose Evening Delivery at checkout"

I wouldn't trust their delivery promises - Amazon have let me
(and many others) down over DS lites that they claimed to
have had in stock on Tuesday and Wednesday and would
be delivered before the 24th - yesterday they fessed up and
changed it to after the 25th - they have put a black cloud over
my Christmas!
I'm not impressed :-(

I agree with some of the points in this statement. I got a Wii last Xmas and a year on it's barely been played due to the lack of decent games. I have RE4 (Excellent), Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Good), Red Steel (Okay), Mario Galaxy (Good) and Mario and Sonic (Not played enough) right now but the best game is still Wii Sports in my view. I am waiting for Wii Fit to come out... should be good!

I'm getting more gameplay from my PS3. The recent release of games have been very good.

aha! you are the cunnings! thanks for the tip (for other products, i'm waiting for the wii backlash/price drop before getting one for £30 like a gamecube :p)

got ours today. thanks for the tip off. didn't want to buy one of these rip off bundles that you end up paying £100 more cos it's got one extra game in that you didn't want anyway.

What about Wii Play, Twilight Princess, Smooth Moves, Big Brain Academy, Super Paper Mario and Mario Party 8? Not to mention all the GC games we can still play and the retro games to download.

I imagine people who bought Wiis last year will be pretty pleased on the whole, as they're selling for the exact same price they were on release day. If I'd payed 400 notes for a PS3 I'd be pretty gutted now it's hovering around the £250 mark.

I owned Wii Play, played it once and didn't like it (sold the game, kept the wiimote). I will buy Zelda at some point. I'm not into Smooth Moves and Mario Party 8. SPM looks okay whilst I don't see the point of Big Brain Academy. It reminds me of Psychometric and Assessment Centre tests! I do own a few GameCube games and I'm not interested in the Virtual Console.

I bought a PS3 60GB PS3 a couple months ago when Sony reduced it. I think it's money well spent and Blu-Ray looks amazing but it depends on what people are after. The 40GB version is at the £250 mark I think.

I'm not against the Wii and I still enjoy it but I hope there will be some decent games available for 2008. It has alot of potential.

I'm pretty much hooked on my 360 at the moment, so many games I absolutely love on it right now (Mass Effect, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Assasins Creed, Ace Combat 4 being the most recent), but I still love my Wii!

I wouldn't buy a Wii as a standalone console, but its a perfect complement to the rest of the gaming systems I have. When friends come round and want to do something fun, just whap in Wario Ware and enjoy. I also enjoy the occasional Nintendo A-list title, Mario Galaxy was amazing, and my Girlfriend is totally engrossed in Zelda (not my thing though). There is a lot to enjoy on the Wii right now, and it has alot of promise!
#31
I was after Wii Play and managed to get one included in a bundle from shopto.net. This left me with 2 Wii's, I put it on ebay and after fees got my £180 back.

What made me mad was the buyer informed me after the auction closed that another ebayer had been sending to bidders links to the amazon site because amazon had Wii's in stock.

I know people think its wrong that people are buying Wii's and then putting them on ebay to make a profit but if you don't bid for them they will stop doing it, its the same with the people who buy concert tickets and sell them.

Everywhere I've been shopping has got loads in stock. I think you've all been victims of viral marketing.

Where have you been shopping mate? Spill the beans.. and we are talking about the Console @ £179.99 not being "skanked" for bundles and bumping the prices up.
