Thanks to kobirulali's post (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/401948/nintendo-wii-incl-wii-sports-145-as/showthread.php?t=401948) I popped into the Asda (Hatfield) store last night and bought the Wii console for £145.

As I needed a second remote, I also purchased the Wii Play for £29. To my surprise, I received £19 discount at the till! Total price £155.

Not sure if this can be done ONLINE?

Genius...great price for anyone wanting a new wii set-up could be a bug on there system, removing the discount on total price expected for the usual wii if that makes sense, might be worth seeing what other things get discounted...still hot hot hot
#2
Anyone else confirmed this? I'll be buying one this wii-kend if its nationwide.

Yeah I got the same deal in the Gloucester Asda - another £19 knocked off the price when I went to the till.

If its a genuine promo then get in there...Might just be an oversight by asda in which case get in there quicker lol...either way get in there quick! lol
#5
undoubtedly a good bargain. However if ASDA pull the plug on Wii play discount, then I think Argos is giving a better deal with Wii console with Wii Sports Game and free Wii play and remote (and Wii compatible mega accessory pack) for £ 176.19 cf Asda offer £ 174.00 (that is if they don't give the extra £19 discount!) Until then this is the best, next to Gillette.........Hot!!!
#6
Thanks, will pick mine up after work.

Wii play isnt on the Asda website so looks like instore only. Cracking deal though if it holds up everywhere

Your quite right its a bundle promo for £187 but because the Wii is discounted the bundle price is reduced, but it only says that on the recipt so they shouldn't notice (or care) unless they inspect it.

I just registered to say thank you!
I bought the wii + wii play here in Plymouth for 155£ today, thanks to your post!
In a few days, I'll be back in my own country, where you can buy the wii+wii sports for...259€ (226£ at today's rate)
that's more than hot!

yeah, no longer ripoff Britain it seems, Europe, especially € Eurozone countries, nearly everything is more expensive than the UK, first hand experience here having just got back from Holland last month, ripoff Europe more like.

even when the £ was stronger, Europe is more expensive, but now the £ is weak, € Eurozone things are much more expensive.

#20
Got it in Glasgow Govan this afternoon, thanks for posting.

I got it with the £19 discount too this morning. The lady at the till was very surprised and so was I. Lol. Got her to scan the 6-1 Sport accessory pack too and as that came up as £5 (no idea if that's the regular price or a deal though) I bought it too and got the lot for £160. £16 cheaper than the Argos deal if my maths are correct.

Just been to Asda in Trafford Park and can confirm that the Wii Console is £145 and not £135 as previously posted today. The guy at the till was really suprised by the bundle deal and but I did notice on the box I had to take to the till they had printed out a £155 sticker so this looks to be legitimate deal.

nice one, you should probably share this in that deal to, save people a wasted journey:thumbsup:

They had loads in the recently opened Asda Living branch in the Bradford Forster Square retail park.

I would have got one but I have a Wii with 4 remotes already :(

Just got my Wii and Play from Hatfield store.
Didn't leave the office till 9m tonight so was worried about stock.
But when I got to the store.... "We've got plenty mate" was the answer.
Whilst he was boasting about £145 being the "best deal in the country", he was somewhat surprised that Wii Play scanned for a tenner though!

Thanks to kobirulali and Tinus for the heads up on this deal.

Now, just gotta start saving up all over again for the PS3.....
#26
Thanks Tinus (& kobirulali),
Got it this evening after a bit of a saga.
I went to Putney Vale Asda, they had the console but no Wii Play. They called Clapham Junction for me but no one answered the call. I decided to go there in person and they had 1 Play unit left but no consoles.
I bought the Play unit, went back to Putney Vale, got a refund on it and then immediately bought it again along with the Console to get my £15 off.
Still worth the hassle, I live halfway between the two stores, about three miles to each.
18 miles total = less than a gallon = £4 and a bit of spare time = saving of £11
Result!! :-D
I missed the Uefa cup final though. :)

I have one query regarding the packaging, as the one I bought may have previously been returned to Asda.

Mine did not have the expected rounded sellotape seal covering the pull tab on the outside of the Console box.
Inside the box none of the internal cable bags had sellotape sealing the bag openings as I expected.
The bag containing the manual and the Wii Sports disc wasn't sealed either, though the disc sleeve itself seems unopened.
The only sealed internal item was the bag containing the remote control. (a green tape seal)
To save a return trip to Asda, can anyone who bought it confirm that there Console was packaged in the same manner?
Thanks for any replies.
I'll check back here in the afternoon after sleep. (Nightshift......not clubbing!) ;-)
Anglo.

Super find!

Just by paying upto £10 more you get main Ninty console instead of the DSi!

Heat & Rep for you buddy!

Mine was the same - all appeared untouched and spanking new. You could tell that the opening tab hadn't been previosuly opened.

damn you anglo ;)

I went all the way down to clap junction last night and was told the last unit had just sold (but could see one right behind the counter.

I wonder if they will be getting any more wii play's in?

Heya,

Wii play wasnt found on the asda website earlier but now it is here http://direct.asda.com/Wii-Play/003749113,default,pd.html

However, the bundle deal adds to £167.50 so definitely the in store price is an error on the system! :santa: Asda is being generous!

Oh: Forgot to say that the bundle deal on the website says get play for £22.50, instead of £29

Just got mine today from ipswich, tried to get a price match at pc world, as it would be £6 cheaper, but they would only match the wii (not 110%) and not even with wii play, so to asda i went!

thats shocking; you should have said its false advertising that they were not willing to give the extra 10% but hey ho you got the better deal anyways; I think PC world might still be feeling the sting they got from the ASDA 360 deal the other week; but why have a price promise if they wont honour lol

Thats how they come, got two (not from this deal BTW) and both were the same, the boxes are not sealed and none of the bags are either, personnaly I prefer it like that because its easier to open and all the bags don't get ripped, if it had been used it would be obvious as there would be no setup on power up.

Just bought my Wii with Wii Play from Stockport Asda for £155 :-D

Thanks Ted, I couldn't say that for definate as my box had slight creasing at that end from a small bump or pressure in transit.

Sorry mate!
Lady at the counter said they were expecting a general stock delivery today but not sure if any Wii's would be included.
Her reason; Stock is automated now and because they had a run on these consoles yesterday it may have been too late for loading at the depot..

Ah, but I wouldn't find that out buying it as a pressie and wanting the recipient to know that it was brand spanking new?
PS. your correct as I suppose I could have just switched it off again before changing anything!

In that case to check for sure, check the green tape on the sensor bar and the tiny bit on the nunchuck plug they are hard to get off without any ripping. But like I say they do come with all bags open and no seal, only a few bits of green tape on the sensor bar nunchuck plug and remote (I think) and wire cable ties on the power cable, av cable and sensor bar cable on the outside of the bags (again I think).

Been to Asda 'Walmart' in Livingston. They have a large display with loads of Wii's. The staff didn't know anything about the Wii Play for £10 extra, as such, but there was an offer on of a Wii for £176 or a bundle of Wii+Play for £186, in other words £10 extra when bought together. Not sure if thats an oversight or not... Got mine now anyway. :-D

The Accessory pack other listers have mentioned is £5 whether you buy anything else or not.

Now just need to find a good deal on a Wii-Fit... Anything better than Argos's Fit+Free Battery pack or Fit+half price controller docking station....????

Do they support HD output? I didn't think they did.

Edit: they don't, think I will leave the 360 in the component then and save myself some re-cabling!
