Details:

In Prince of Persia Rival Swords, the Prince makes his way home to Babylon, bearing with him Kaileena, the enigmatic Empress of Time, and unspeakable scars from the Island of Time. But instead of the peace he longs for, he finds his kingdom ravaged by war and Kaileena the target of a brutal plot. When she is kidnapped, the Prince tracks her to the palace – only to see her murdered by a powerful enemy. Her death unleashes the Sands of Time, which strike the Prince and threaten to destroy everything he holds dear. Cast out on the streets, hunted as a fugitive, the Prince soon discovers that the Sands have tainted him, too. They have given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him.

Special Features:

· New multiplayer experience: Versus play in timed races as either the Prince or Dark Prince. Interrupt and impede your opponent’s progress by activating switches in your own level that will trigger traps and obstacles in their level.

· Play and master two distinct characters: Wield the powers and weapons of two master warriors with different combat styles, attitudes and histories.

· Choose your way to kill: Master the expanded Free-Form Fighting system to destroy enemies in your own style, strangle them from afar with the deadly Daggertail, or surprise them with crafty Speed Kills – the choice is yours.

· Battle freely through Babylon: Dominate enemies on perilous rooftops, dodge through chaotic streets and ambush pursuers in dark underground passageways.

· Immerse yourself in a dramatic story: Experience unparalleled depth in storytelling as you fight your way through a twisting tale filled with adrenaline, tension and discovery.

· Brand-new chariot combat levels: Seize the reins of a chariot and battle through brand-new levels that are immediately available in the Main Menu for a quick adrenaline rush.

· Experience a masterful blend of gameplay: True to the Prince of Persia franchise, the game provides a variety of action combat, agility and story-driven puzzles – all masterfully blended into a rich gaming experience.

7/10 :)

The bottom line is that Rival Swords is the same game as The Two Thrones with added Wii controls that sometimes better the experience and sometimes worsen it, but if I had to choose, I'd take a traditional control setup to the new gesture system. Bearing that in mind, I'm telling you to pick up the GameCube version of Two Thrones and play it on Wii if you need a fix of Prince of Persia. It's a lot cheaper and you aren't sacrificing the gore factor, if that's your thing.

Why not play the 29 better games first then, and then buy this when you have finished them all - you should be able to pick it up for a fiver by then......:whistling:

Some people probably have played the "better" 29 games. Although I bet none of the 29 games "above" this one is available for £14.99!!!

This game, in effect, is £2.99 not a fiver ( Buy the game, play it and trade in at CEX for £12 CASH!?!?? )

Alright, calm down.......I'm just saying it is a fair price, but a mediocre game - that's all. If you have lots of spare time it might be worth a go......I guess........:)

You should try and get a second wiimote (possibly with Wii Play - £35 but limited availablilty) - you could go to Deal Extreme for a Remote/Nunchuck double pack - £33 delivered, but will take a couple of weeks to arrive.......http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3883

Mercury Meltdown has good reviews and is on offer Amazon at the moment for £12.97 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Atari-Mercury-Meltdown-Revolution-Wii/dp/B000MVD1OY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1196335273&sr=8-1

As is metal slug - a side scrolling shooting game (might not be appropriate depending on the age of your son.....) - £14.97 @ amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Atari-Metal-Slug-Anthology-Wii/dp/B000IMBULS/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1196335321&sr=8-3

The Wii Zapper & Links Crossbow training should be fun - released next Friday - £15.99 @ tesco - http://www.tesco.com/entertainment/product.aspx?R=824074&bci=4|Games

If you want to spend a bit more on your games, I would recommend Mario Galaxy, Metroid 3, Zelda as the 'best' three Wii games to buy

Here is a link to all the best rated games on the Wii at the moment for some more ideas.........http://www.metacritic.com/games/wii/scores/

As the previous poster said, definitely try for Wii Play even though it's hard to find.

I absolutely recommend Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, which is £29.99 in Sainsburys. It's a great multi-game and of all my Wii games that's the one I've played the most. It's for all ages, and both adults and kids love it. Never have I laughed so much playing a game as this.

How old is your son?

I highly recommend Super Mario Galaxy. It's the best game on the Wii, it's had the highest reviews of any Wii game. 10 out of 10, 97% etc across the board.

I also recommend Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, it's a fun game like Wii Sports but with more events.

Someone else mentioned Mercury Meltdown Revolution, that is also a great game, very simple to play.

Someone suggested Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, but I would suggest going for the original Rayman Raving Rabbids. A fun lot of mini-games.

There is also Big Brain Academy which is a great 'brain training' type game.

The reason this game achieved mediocre reviews is because it is just a port of Prince of Persia: Two Thrones which came out on PS2. That game got good reviews, so anybody who enjoys games such as Prince of Persia, and hasn't already played Two Thrones should go for this, it's a good game
#17
Very much agreed with the above ^

If you've not played the original, there's no reason not to get this :)
#18
thanks for this, just ordered for my son, i'm sure he'll like it, so thanks:thumbsup:
#19
Thank you - ordered. Been a long-time fan of Prince of Persia!

I second that - the first rayman is much funnier and better for single player -but the second is more geared up for multi player.

The first Rayman Raving Rabbits is only £19.99 @ Argos, and is also part of the 2 for £35 deal that is still running - see here for details.....

Might be worth while you posting a "deal request" or "wanted" thread for this. If you want to compare game prices and stock try:-

www.find-games.co.uk
www.find-dvd.co.uk
www.billybargain.co.uk

I gave you a few because you tend to find different prices on each one. I hope this helps? If you have no luck please get back to me with specific titles and I will find them for you Regards
