Nintendo Wii stock............

Ok - You've only got my word that this is a valid tip, but I have been reliably informed that Sainsburys are sitting on 10,000 Wii's ready for the Christmas explosion - Sorry I can't give more details but it sort of comes from the horses mouth.

This makes me wonder how many other large chains are also sitting on stock.

I can't validate this or offer any more info but as the price on Ebay etc. seems static at £270 - 300 (for basic sports pack) it might be worth sitting tight for a while then if necessary going for the crazy ebay prices.

Anyway I'm just trying to help so please don't shoot me down in flames, I'm a mum myself I wouldn't be so cruel as to hoax (or actually find the time!!).

10,000 seems like an awful lot, but then if any company had this many, I wouldn't expect many to go by themselves ... can anyone smell potential bundles?!

Yes ive heard that Amazon will have 20,000 in stock in the next couple of weeks. So don't buy now, wait a few weeks. If they don't come in stock - you can always buy 1 off me for 400 quid :P

To any one in the Liverpool area Gamestation in Towns St Johns shopping center had stock in off the Nintendo Wii today.

not to knock the post down or anything but sainsburys have just under 500 supermarkets.. i think so

10,000 / 500 = 20 per store

Not the biggest amount. However there is allot more stock then there was a few weeks ago, just don't leave it too long as i think mid December its going to be hectic.

Thing is, not all stores do that level of sound and vision - around 65% at most.
#7
wow thats quite low, but still looking at what toys r us get in every few days its still not allot, all im saying is don't rely on there being more stock in the next few weeks as no one apart from Mr Nintendo himself know what there playing at!

But I bet every store would have absolutely no problem selling 20 Wiis though :)
#9
Makes sense they might do that, leave it close to Christmas - people go in and happen to do their christmas shopping there instead of at tescos as well.

Personally I think there are going to be a lot of wiis around in the run up to Christmas. I recon a huge percentage of current purchases are by people planning on reselling them in the run up to Christmas as opposed to actually wanting them or planning on giving them as presents. A lot of these will flood ebay 2nd week of December I would imagine.

i have a friend that works for argos in purchasing , he said wii's are so hard to re stock, as there is an EU shortage now in germany france etc....

Argos had 5000 on friday and sold them all online in 13 mins !!!!

Its still going to be very very hard to get one at retail price for most of us..
#11
Am I the only one in slack jawed disbelief that these consoles are STILL a git to get hold of almost a year after launch?

I had a nightmare trying to get get one last Christmas for my son. It beggars belief that the thing is still akin to rocking horse poop :?

Someone at Nintendo needs a kick in the nuts.

strange this is i sold a few on ebay last year for 255 and after xmas decided to send the remaining 2 back to john lewis as the demand had gone......i wouldnt have dreamt of thinking the shortage would be worse this xmas.
#13
Let me get my head round this, Sainsburys have a stock of 10,000 Wii consoles that they are sitting on until Christmas?
I guess it must be so that store managers can don smart red suits trimmed with white fur, climb down chimneys in the middle of the night on the 24th and place them under 10,000 Christmas trees.:santa:
What a nice idea. :whistling: :p

Surely any companys not going to leave nearly 2 million quids worth of electronics just sitting around???

Surely if you had them, you would get them distributed and sold (not like its hard to shift them) with the hope of getting more :?

exactly my point , i work in retail if you have these babys in stock, you would not care who bought them , just get them out for sale asap and get the money in then order some more, there going to sell today or tommorow what the dif'.... :whistling:

ps, I Ordered a Wii from Germany about a month ago just before this country went Wii Mad it arrived today...!!!! Not knowing my Brother has already bought me one for Xmas....

It is for sale it is a bundle and please note it cost me over £200 for the wii alone inc the UPS delivery(i have the reciept to prove this also....

please email, pm me if you want to buy ? I dont want to ebay it after all the grief it gets from here....

Maybe Jamie Olivers doing a job on them, coating them in toffee for a 'taste the difference' version, yours for only £350.

Hell, like I said on another forum today, you could bundle these things with a flesh eating bacteria and they're still going to sell out as soon as you get them on the shelves :giggle:
#18
Because, as said before, the last week or two of shopping before christmas is when people do their massive food shop. Release them then and you will get those massive shops that you may otherwise lose to tesco/asda.
#19
I think this is another pointless post on so called FEELINGS people may have about companys getting stock....No one in there mind would hold 10,000 wii's .....If all these soo called big stocks are coming you may end up wiith other companys getting your money so they would sell them straight away.

Theres so many threads with maybe this and ive heard that....absolute rubbish...

One of you will get it right tho if you keep guessing a store, lol

It reminds me of the amateur weather forecasters who get their names in the trashy tabloids by forecasting a major blizzard/storm/droughts/floods etc - by the law of averages ONE of them is bound to get it right sooner or later, but there's little or no skill involved. You may as well just pick a name out of a hat.

I can't win, as I said if I validate this I probably lose my job.... and NO I don't work for Sainsburys.
However feel free to spend what you like where you like, nobody is forcing anyone to wait for stock from anywhere - incidently did anyone say anything about direct from Nintendo because here's not the place to give you a lesson about the grey market......

Oh and Kevsy 'bless you, your naivity and all that sail in you'

That's not what he said. Clearly you haven't understood...

In a few weeks, people will be doing a big Christmas shop, getting in everything for Christmas. When they do this, they have a choice of supermarket to go to, and they'll probably go wherever they usually go. If Sainsbury's sell Wii's, you can be sure tens of thousands of people will go to Sainsbury's to see if they have them in stock, and also do their big christmas shop whilst they're there, rather than doing it at their usual supermarket.
This, obviously, makes Sainsbury's more money, and explains why they might be holding the stock back. I'm not saying that they are (obviously I don't know), but merely explaining to you why they might, as you clearly didn't grasp it the first time, and chose to mock someone else instead...
#26
:w00t: I heard Asda are getting 30,000 tomorrow!
#27
keep on dreaming that, they prob got about 10 per store maximum and the staff will have 80% of them as they know how mad the deal is for the wii too.

like i said my friend works at argos he said they are slowing the stocking of stores as they think staff are tipping off friends and family when they are in stock and then ebaying them off later on..... just stickng them online for home del' now, like the batch they had on friday morning...

I got to be honest i did understand what he said totally...I was taking the comment and making something very sarcastic about it as its another pointless post.... Also....OP just making a post saying a certain retailer is having stock in the next month is not exactly a hot post..

I tell u what ive heard the following should be getting stock before xmas.......HMV, TOYS R US, ARGOS, JOHN LEWIS, GAMESTATION, GAME, AMAZON........ I reckon ive covered myself:giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
